Lenovo ThinkPad Super Low-Profile TrackPoint Cap Set (10 pcs)
Genuine Lenovo4 mm heightSoft dome10 caps
The Lenovo ThinkPad Super Low-Profile TrackPoint Cap Set (4XH0L55146) contains 10 replacement TrackPoint caps with a 4 mm height and soft dome, the simplest way to restore grip and precision when the original red TrackPoint cap on a ThinkPad keyboard is worn smooth.
ThinkPad keyboards use several TrackPoint cap heights, and the right one depends on how thin the keyboard is. This set is the super low-profile (4 mm) type; on its product page Lenovo lists the ThinkPad X1 Tablet Thin Keyboard as a compatible keyboard.
Before you order: Cap height matters: a cap that is too tall will touch the screen when the lid is closed, and one that is too short will feel loose. Lenovo also sells Ultra Low-Profile caps (e.g. 4XH0L17056, 2.15 mm) and other heights for different ThinkPads. Send us your exact ThinkPad model (from the label underneath) and we will confirm this set before you order.
What's in the Box
- 10 x ThinkPad super low-profile TrackPoint caps

What It Means in Practice
- Pull the worn cap straight up with your fingernails and press the new cap straight down onto the stick.
- Ten caps cover a whole team or several years of use on one machine.
- A fresh soft-dome cap restores precise cursor control without replacing the keyboard.
- Keep spares in the IT drawer for quick fixes during laptop refreshes.
What Will Not Work
- ThinkPads that use a different cap height (Ultra Low-Profile 2.15 mm, 3 mm or classic-height caps).
- Fixing a TrackPoint that drifts or does not respond — that is a sensor or keyboard issue, not the cap.
- Non-ThinkPad laptops or external keyboards without a TrackPoint.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Worn TrackPoint caps are the most common ThinkPad keyboard complaint we hear, and a ten-pack costs far less than a keyboard. The only real risk is cap height, so check the model first. For your ThinkPad desk setup, see our docking stations.
✓ Buy it if your ThinkPad uses the 4 mm super low-profile TrackPoint cap and the current one is worn.
✕ Skip it if your ThinkPad needs a different cap height, or the TrackPoint itself is faulty.
→ Also consider Lenovo Ultra Low-Profile TrackPoint cap set 4XH0L17056 for thinner keyboards.
Send us your ThinkPad model number and we will confirm the right TrackPoint cap set.
