The LevelOne WAC-2013 is a Gigabit wireless LAN controller for medium and larger sites such as schools, hotels and office buildings. It manages up to 256 access points from one place — configuration templates that load automatically onto APs, disable/restart/reset, Layer 2 roaming and load balancing, real-time signal scanning with automatic RF coverage adjustment, and IP conflict detection across the network. It can also act as the internet gateway, with a firewall, smart QoS and client isolation, over one Gigabit WAN and four Gigabit LAN ports. The metal housing is 440 × 221 × 44 mm, has 512 MB RAM, runs on 100–240 V AC with a power cord in the box, and ships with a 19″ rack kit.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Check your access points first. LevelOne does not publish a list of compatible AP models on the product page, so a controller from one brand should not be assumed to manage another brand’s APs. The feature list also mentions “up to 256 client” alongside 256 APs; if client count matters for your site, ask us before ordering.
