The LevelOne GVT-2051 is a 10-Gigabit media converter with one multi-gigabit RJ45 port (1G, 2.5G, 5G or 10G) and one 10G SFP+ slot, for connecting a 10GBASE-T server, NAS or switch to a fibre backbone.
It is a small, unmanaged desktop unit with ESD protection and its own 5V power adapter, and it also slides into the LevelOne CVH-2000 14-slot converter chassis when you need many links in one rack.
Before you order: No SFP+ module is included. LevelOne specifies that the copper link speed decides the fibre speed, so the transceiver (and the device at the far end) must support the rate the copper side negotiates — for a 10G fibre link, the copper side must also run at 10G.

What It Means in Practice
- Typical use: a server or NAS with a 10GBASE-T port connected to a switch that only has SFP+ uplinks.
- Copper side handles Cat5e/Cat6 multi-gig rates (802.3bz 2.5G/5G) and 10GBASE-T (802.3an).
- Fibre side accepts 10G SFP+ optics such as 10GBASE-SR (multimode) or LR/ER (single-mode); the far end needs the same optic type.
- LEDs show signal detect, RJ45 link/activity and the copper rate (1G, 2.5G or 5/10G).
What Will Not Work
- It does not convert speeds: a 2.5G copper link will not drive a 10G-only optic.
- No PoE.
- Not industrial: rated -10 to 50°C for indoor racks and desks.
- No management or VLAN features.
