LevelOne XEL-0891 — Compact 8-Port L3 Managed 10G Switch
4× 10GbE RJ-454× 10G SFP+160 GbpsFanless
The LevelOne XEL-0891 is a compact 8-port Layer 3 managed 10 Gigabit switch with 4× 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G RJ-45 ports and 4× 1G/2.5G/10G SFP+ ports in a fanless desktop case, ideal for studios, small offices and home labs that need silent 10G. Part number XEL-0891 is the grey desktop/wall-mount version with external power adapter.
A 160 Gbps non-blocking fabric runs all eight ports at wire speed, and the same L3 software as the larger XEL-1291 adds static and dynamic routing (RIP, OSPF v2, BGP-4), 4K VLANs, ACLs and 802.1X security.
Compatibility note: For 10 Gbps over the RJ-45 ports use Cat6A (up to 100 m) or Cat6 for shorter runs. SFP+ modules/DAC cables are not included, and the switch has no PoE. Operating range is 0–40°C, so keep it in a ventilated spot.
Best For
✓ Silent 10G for studios and creative workstations
✓ Small office 10G NAS / server links
✓ Home labs and SMB edge routing
✓ Desk or wall installation (no rack needed)
Key Features
Silent, fanless 10G
No fan at all — the XEL-0891 can sit on a desk or in an office without adding noise, while still running four copper ports at up to 10 Gbps.
Copper and fiber in one
Four Multi-Gig RJ-45 ports plus four SFP+ cages let you mix 10G servers, NAS units and fiber links to other floors or buildings.
Layer 3 in a small box
Static IPv4/IPv6 routes, RIP, OSPF v2 and BGP-4, QinQ, private and voice VLANs, LACP, MSTP and ERPS rings — features usually found in rack switches.

Singular Expert Insight
Few 10G switches this small are both fanless and fully Layer 3 — most silent 10G models are unmanaged. That makes the XEL-0891 a strong pick for creative studios and small offices where noise matters. For extra Gigabit access ports, add one of our network switches downstream.
✓ Buy it if you want quiet 10G for a NAS and a few workstations with proper VLANs and routing.
✕ Skip it if you need more than four 10G copper ports or PoE for access points.
→ Also consider LevelOne XEL-1291 for 8× 10G RJ-45 in a rack, or GTL-2885 for 24 Gigabit ports with 10G uplinks.
