Lexmark 3070166 Black Re-Inking Ribbon for Forms Printer 23xx / 24xx / 25xx

Genuine LexmarkBlack4M charactersRe-inking

The Lexmark 3070166 is the original black re-inking ribbon for the Lexmark Forms Printer 2300, 2400 and 2500 series — the 2380/2381/2390/2391, 2480/2481/2490/2491 and the 2580/2581/2590/2591 including their n, + and n+ versions — used for invoices, delivery notes and multi-part forms.

Lexmark rates it at 4 million characters at draft 10 pitch.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Lexmark 3070166 black re-inking ribbon cartridge
  • Lexmark packaging

What It Means in Practice

  • Forms printers strike through multi-part carbonless sets, so one pass produces the original and all copies.
  • The re-inking design feeds fresh ink to the fabric as it runs, which keeps print density even over a long ribbon life.
  • Replace when the last copy of your form becomes hard to read — worn ribbons also wear the print head.

What Will Not Work

  • Lexmark Forms Printer 4227 / 6400 line matrix printers — different ribbons.
  • Inkjet or laser printers.
  • Manual re-inking — the cartridge re-inks itself internally and is replaced as one unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the 25xx+ models?
Yes — Lexmark lists the 2580+, 2581+, 2590+ and 2591+ including network (n) versions.
What does re-inking mean?
The cartridge has an internal ink reservoir that re-inks the fabric loop as it turns, giving a long, even life; it is not refilled by hand.
Is this a genuine Lexmark ribbon?
Yes — original Lexmark supply.
How should I store spare cartridges?
Keep them sealed in the original packaging, away from heat and direct sunlight, and open a cartridge only when you are ready to fit it — an opened ribbon slowly dries out.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 3070166 covers almost every Lexmark Forms Printer from the 2380 to the 2591+, so one stock item serves a mixed fleet. Order by the four-digit model number on the printer. Other ribbons are in our printer ribbons range.
✓ Buy it if you run a Lexmark Forms Printer 2380–2391, 2480–2491 or 2580–2591 (incl. n/+).
✕ Skip it if your printer is a line-matrix model or not a Lexmark Forms Printer.
→ Also consider Epson S015337 for LQ-590 printers.
Not sure which one your printer takes? Send us the printer model from the label on its base or back and we will confirm the right ribbon before you order.
