The Lindy Fixed Single Display Wall Mount, part number 40713, holds a monitor or a small television on the wall in a set position, and it does so with a load capacity of 20 kg — more than double what a typical gas-spring arm manages. That is the trade this product makes: you give up one-handed height adjustment, and in exchange you get a mount that carries a genuinely heavy panel, sits close to the wall, and costs less. Despite the name it is not immobile: it tilts to set the viewing angle and pivots through two joints, which is what lets it work in a corner or swing towards a second person in the room. Compatibility — check before buying:
Check three things, and note one inconsistency in the manufacturer’s own data. First, size and weight are separate limits: 10 to 26 inches and up to 20 kg, and your display must satisfy both — weigh it without the stand. The 20 kg figure is generous for this screen range, so in practice the size limit is the one that will exclude a display, not the weight. Second, Lindy states explicitly that the mount is not suitable for monitors with recessed VESA mounts; the four rubber standoffs supplied help with slightly uneven backs, but they do not solve a recessed pattern. Third, the wall: three 50 mm bolts and plugs are supplied, which suit solid masonry — a stud or plasterboard wall needs fixings appropriate to that construction. On the movement figures, be aware that Lindy’s product description and its specification table do not agree: the description gives a tilt range of -15° to +10° and 180° of pivot across two joints, while the specification table lists tilt +180°, pivot +90° and rotation +180°. There is a persistent assumption that an articulating arm is always the better product, and this mount is a useful corrective. A gas spring has to balance the weight it carries, which is why those arms stop around 8 to 10 kg; a fixed mount just holds the load, so it takes 20 kg without difficulty and costs less doing it. If the screen is going to sit in one place — a reception counter, a workshop, a corridor display, a wall-mounted second monitor that nobody repositions — the fixed mount is the correct engineering choice, not a compromise. It still tilts and pivots, so glare and corner installations are covered.
