Lindy 38485 hybrid optical Mini DisplayPort cable kit with DP connectors, 70 m, 8K60, Black

Mini DP + DP8K6070 m

The Lindy 38485 is a 70 m hybrid optical cable with Mini DisplayPort plugs and two detachable full-size DisplayPort connectors. Remove the larger connectors while planning a narrow conduit route, then fit them at the ends as required. This allows Mini DP–Mini DP, DP–DP or mixed Mini DP/DP connections without buying a separate connector pair.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the graphics output and screen input for the selected mode. Resolution and refresh need support from both devices. The connectors are Mini DP/DP, not USB-C. A source with insufficient power may need 5 V support as specified in the manual.

Key Features

Detachable ends for routing
The smaller Mini DP plug is approximately 38 × 13.9 × 12 mm. Check it against the actual conduit opening before routing.

70 m hybrid transmission
Optical fibre and copper combine in a 4.8 mm round cable. Keep the stated 48 mm minimum bend radius.

Check modes and source power
8K60 and 4K120 have specific colour-mode references. The manual also requires 5 V support if the source cannot supply enough power.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the detachable plugs turn this into a USB-C cable?
No. The base plugs are Mini DisplayPort and the supplied detachable plugs are full-size DisplayPort. Neither is USB-C.
Is external power always unnecessary?
The product page says no external power is normally required. The manual adds a 5 V requirement if the source cannot provide sufficient power, so test the actual source before a permanent 70 m installation.
Singular Expert Insight
For 70 m installations, check the full cable route and test your actual screen mode before concealing it. Choose the connection technology and connector size around the installation, not length alone. Compare DisplayPort cables and adapters Tell us your source and display models so we can check compatibility requirements.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

The 70 m route, connector type and documented 8K60 mode match your equipment.

Skip it if

You need more reach, different connectors or a video mode beyond the stated limits.

Also consider

A shorter cable for a nearby screen or a different technology for your conduit and video requirements.
