The Lindy 47900 is the RJ45 Port Blocker Kit, Yellow (1x Key, 10x Locks): a starter set of one colour-coded key and ten yellow blockers that lock into unused RJ45 ports. Each blocker is pushed into an unused port by hand and stays there until it is pulled out with the matching yellow key, so nobody can plug a network cable into that port without it. In practice it stops a visitor or contractor plugging a laptop or an unknown device into a free switch port, wall outlet or patch panel — one of the easiest ways into a company network — and makes every unused port visible at a glance.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Keys are colour-coded: Lindy states that a key only opens blockers of the same colour, so a yellow blocker needs a yellow key — a key from another colour will not release it. This kit contains the key. It fits RJ45 ports only — Lindy does not publish a fit for smaller RJ11/RJ12 telephone jacks. Lindy also still lists an older RJ45 blocker generation (for example 40472); it does not publish that keys cross between the two, so stay with one series. Lindy does not publish a fit for deeply recessed or unusually shaped ports; if yours sit deep in a case or behind a cover, send us the device model and we check it.
