The LogiLink UA0085 is a four-port USB 2.0 hub that ships with its own mains adapter, and that adapter is the entire point of the product. LogiLink publishes the figure that explains why: without external power each port is limited to 100 mA; with the supplied 5 V / 2 A adapter fitted, each port delivers up to 500 mA. The acrylic body is 88.2 x 36.4 x 22.4 mm and weighs 40 g, with over-current protection and a blue activity LED.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, about ten times slower than a 5 Gbps hub. It is built for keyboards, mice, barcode scanners, keypads, card readers, dongles and charging small devices — not for external drives, where a large copy takes hours. The host socket on the hub is USB-B and the supplied lead is USB-A to USB-B, 60 cm, detachable; the plug at the computer end is USB-A. The mains adapter takes 230 V and outputs 5 V / 2 A (10 W) on a 1.5 m lead with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC plug. There is no video output and no Ethernet, and the hub does not charge a laptop. LogiLink lists Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux.
