Logitech M196 Bluetooth Mouse — Graphite
Bluetooth 5.0, no receiver1000 DPI, 3 buttons12 months on 1× AA67 % recycled plastic
The Logitech M196 (910-007459, Graphite) is Logitech’s entry-level Bluetooth mouse: it pairs directly over Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0 with a laptop or tablet, so no USB port is taken and there is no receiver to lose. An optical sensor tracks at 1000 DPI, three buttons cover everyday work, and one AA battery, pre-installed, lasts up to 12 months. The shell is 67 % recycled plastic and Logitech backs it with a two-year limited hardware warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Bluetooth only — no receiver in the box and no Logi Bolt support, so the computer must have Bluetooth. Logitech specifies Windows 10 or later and macOS 11 or later; Swift Pair on Windows. Three buttons, no side buttons, no DPI switch, standard (not silent) clicks. Logitech does not publish multi-device switching for this model.

Singular Expert Insight
The M196 is the cheapest Logitech Bluetooth mouse in our wireless mice and the one to pick for a laptop with no free USB port when silence is not a requirement. The M240 Silent adds SilentTouch, 4000 DPI and Logi Bolt support for a little more. A docking stations adds ports if you later want a dongle mouse.
