The C930e is the widest and most capable of Logitech’s classic business webcams. A 90 degree field of view takes in more than one person, 4x digital zoom crops back in when you want a tighter frame, and the camera compresses its own video using H.264 with Scalable Video Coding over UVC 1.5 — the strongest encoding specification in the range. Logitech covers it for three years.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The 90 degree view is fixed and it is wide. At a normal desk distance it takes in the whole room behind you, and there is no hardware way to narrow it — the 4x zoom crops the image instead, which costs resolution. If you sit alone and want a tighter frame, the C925e at 78 degrees is the better shape, and it also offers 720p at 60 fps, which the C930e does not: every mode on this camera is 30 fps. The privacy shutter is a clip-on flap, not built into the body, so on a fleet rollout expect some to go missing. The cable is USB-A, 1.5 m and attached. There is no Windows Hello and no infrared sensor.
