Logitech C930e — 1080p Business Webcam, 90 Degree View
1080p at 30 fps90° wide viewH.264 with SVC and UVC 1.54x digital zoom
The C930e is the widest and most capable of Logitech’s classic business webcams. A 90 degree field of view takes in more than one person, 4x digital zoom crops back in when you want a tighter frame, and the camera compresses its own video using H.264 with Scalable Video Coding over UVC 1.5 — the strongest encoding specification in the range. Logitech covers it for three years.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The 90 degree view is fixed and it is wide. At a normal desk distance it takes in the whole room behind you, and there is no hardware way to narrow it — the 4x zoom crops the image instead, which costs resolution. If you sit alone and want a tighter frame, the C925e at 78 degrees is the better shape, and it also offers 720p at 60 fps, which the C930e does not: every mode on this camera is 30 fps. The privacy shutter is a clip-on flap, not built into the body, so on a fleet rollout expect some to go missing. The cable is USB-A, 1.5 m and attached. There is no Windows Hello and no infrared sensor.
Best For
✓ Two or three people sharing one screen
✓ Meeting rooms and huddle spaces
✓ Skype for Business and other H.264 video stacks
✓ Older PCs where encoding video in software costs performance
✓ Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, BlueJeans, Pexip and RingCentral
Key Features
The strongest encoder in the range
H.264 with Scalable Video Coding over UVC 1.5. The camera compresses the stream itself, so the PC does less work and the network carries less — and UVC 1.5 is a step ahead of the C925e’s 1.1.
90 degrees fits a group
Wide enough that two or three people at one desk are all in shot without anyone leaning in. This is the reason most buyers choose it over the C925e.
4x digital zoom
Crop back in from the wide view when only you are on the call. It costs resolution, as any digital zoom does, but it makes one camera serve both jobs.
Glass lens with autofocus and RightLight 2
Built-in HD autofocus behind glass, with light correction that meters for faces rather than the window behind them.

Singular Expert Insight
For years this was the default answer whenever someone needed a webcam that could cover a small meeting room without a dedicated conferencing system, and the reasons still hold: a genuinely wide lens, real hardware encoding, glass optics, three years of warranty. Where it disappoints is the details around it — a clip-on shutter on a business camera, and no 60 fps mode anywhere. Buy it for the 90 degrees and the encoder; if you sit alone at a desk, the narrower C925e will flatter you more. In a room already short of sockets, a powered USB hub is the tidy way to add the camera without losing a port.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need a wide 90 degree view for two or three people, with hardware H.264 encoding and a three-year business warranty.
Skip it if
Skip it if you sit alone and want tight framing, if you need 60 fps, or if a loose clip-on shutter is unacceptable.
Also consider
Logitech C925e for a 78 degree view with a built-in shutter and 720p at 60 fps, or the Brio 505 for USB-C with selectable field of view.
