Logitech Zone Wired 2 for Business — USB-C Headset with Adaptive Hybrid ANC

Adaptive hybrid ANCRotate-to-mute boomUSB-A adapter in the boxManaged through Logitech Sync

The Logitech Zone Wired 2 for Business, part number 981-001618, is the wired answer for people who want active noise cancellation without a battery to manage. Adaptive hybrid ANC quietens the office and a transparency mode on the earcup lets the room back in when someone comes to the desk. Two noise-cancelling microphones, backed by a Logitech algorithm and a microphone EQ, handle the outgoing call, and the boom rotates through 270 degrees and mutes when you fold it up. It plugs in over a fixed 1.9 m USB-C cable with a USB-A adapter supplied, weighs 223.5 g and is managed centrally through Logitech Sync.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This part number is the UC build, not the Microsoft Teams one. The Teams-certified versions are 981-001615 in Graphite, 981-001616 in Rose and 981-001617 in Off-white — identical hardware with Teams certification and Teams button behaviour. If your IT policy requires a certified Teams device, order one of those instead. Second point: the USB-C cable is fixed to the headset and cannot be detached or replaced, so damage to the cable means replacing the headset rather than a cord. A USB-A adapter is supplied, and Logitech notes it is intended for use with this headset only. Finally this is a wired headset with no Bluetooth — there is no dongle, no pairing and nothing to charge.

Best For

✓ Open-plan desks that want ANC without managing batteries
✓ Hot desks and shared positions where a headset must always be ready
✓ Sites standardising through Logitech Sync and Logi Tune
✓ Users who want a transparency mode rather than taking the headset off
✓ Machines with either USB-C or USB-A ports
✓ Teams who prefer rotate-to-mute over hunting for a button

Key Features

Adaptive hybrid ANC on a wired headset
Feedforward and feedback microphones working together, adapting to the room, with a transparency mode you can toggle on the earcup. That combination is normally reserved for wireless models, and having it on a wired headset means the quiet never runs out mid-afternoon.

Rotate to mute
The boom arm swings through 270 degrees and muting is a physical action rather than a button press — fold it up and you are muted. It is the fastest and least error-prone mute there is, and it is obvious to the person doing it whether they are muted or not.

Two microphones and a real EQ
Two noise-cancelling capsules running 100 Hz to 8,000 Hz, with a Logitech algorithm and a microphone EQ in Logi Tune that lets people adjust how their voice is presented. The status LED sits on the USB connector head rather than the headband.

Made to be deployed, not just bought
Logitech Sync gives IT central inventory, firmware management and settings across a fleet, and Logi Tune covers the individual user. For a rollout of any size that is the difference between managing headsets and chasing them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the Microsoft Teams version?
No. 981-001618 is the UC build. The Teams-certified versions are 981-001615 in Graphite, 981-001616 in Rose and 981-001617 in Off-white. The hardware is the same; what changes is the certification and the Teams button behaviour. Tell us if Teams certification is a policy requirement and we will send the right part number.
Can I replace the cable if it gets damaged?
No. The USB-C cable is captive, which means it is fixed to the headset and cannot be swapped or extended. That is worth knowing before you deploy it somewhere cables get caught in chair wheels. The supplied USB-A adapter is a separate small part and is intended for use with this headset.
What does adaptive hybrid ANC actually mean here?
It means microphones both outside and inside the earcup work together and the cancellation adapts to the room rather than applying one fixed setting. There is also a transparency mode on the earcup, so you can let the office back in without removing the headset when a colleague comes over.
Does it need software to work?
No, it works as a plain USB headset. Logi Tune adds microphone EQ, ANC and sidetone settings for the individual, and Logitech Sync gives IT central inventory and firmware management across a fleet. For a single desk neither is required; for fifty desks Sync is the reason to buy Logitech.
Singular Expert Insight
The Zone Wired 2 occupies a specific and useful gap: active noise cancellation on a headset with no battery. For hot desks, shift positions and any environment where a flat battery costs a call, that combination is worth more than another hour of talk time on a wireless model. Two ordering points matter. The last three digits decide certification and colour — 1618 is UC Graphite, while 1615, 1616 and 1617 are the Teams-certified Graphite, Rose and Off-white builds — and the cable is captive, so treat cable routing as part of the deployment plan rather than an afterthought. If wireless is genuinely needed, or a desk phone has to be covered, those are different products entirely; the range is in office and VoIP headsets, with listening-first models in headphones. Tell us how many desks and whether Sync will be used and we will size the order properly.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want ANC on a wired headset, a mute you can feel rather than find, and central management through Logitech Sync. Your platform is Zoom, Webex, Google Meet or another non-Teams softphone.

Skip it if

You need Microsoft Teams certification, a wireless headset, or a replaceable cable. The first is a different part number, the other two are different products.

Also consider

The Teams-certified 981-001615 in the same Graphite finish, the Rose and Off-white Teams builds if the colour matters, or a wireless Zone model when staff need to leave the desk during calls.
