Logitech Zone Wireless 2 ES — Adaptive Hybrid ANC, Bluetooth 5.3 and a USB-C Receiver, in Off-White
Adaptive hybrid ANC with five modesUp to 25 h talk, 48 h listeningUSB-C receiver plus USB-A adapterMicrosoft Teams certified
The Logitech Zone Wireless 2 ES is the Essential model in the Zone Wireless 2 line — Logitech’s own support answer confirms that ES stands for Essential and marks the core-feature version of the range. In practice that means a newer Bluetooth 5.3 radio and a longer battery than the standard model, with a simpler two-microphone array instead of five. Adaptive hybrid noise cancellation runs in five modes, from full ANC through to a transparency setting that lets the room back in. This part number, 981-001520, is the European off-white configuration with the wireless receiver included and Microsoft Teams certification.
Compatibility — check before buying:
There is no 3.5 mm jack on this headset. Wired use runs over the supplied USB-C cable only — Logitech describes connecting the headset to the computer with the charging cable and using it as a corded headset. If you need to plug into a desk phone, an aircraft seat or anything else with an analogue socket, this model cannot do it at all. The codecs are SBC and AAC only, with no aptX; the standard Zone Wireless 2 is the model that carries aptX. The ES is not a cut-down version in every respect — it has the newer Bluetooth 5.3 radio and a longer battery than the standard model, but two microphones instead of five. Anyone buying “the better one” on name alone will guess wrong in at least one direction, so tell us which matters more to you and we will confirm the part number.
Best For
✓ Hybrid workers who want ANC for focus as well as calls
✓ Microsoft Teams estates that need certified devices
✓ Desks where the headset has to match a light-coloured setup
✓ Long call days — up to 25 hours of talk time
✓ Laptops with USB-C ports, using the supplied receiver
✓ Anyone who wants five noise modes rather than on and off
Key Features
Five noise modes, not two
ANC high, ANC low, adaptive ANC, transparency on, and everything off. Adaptive mode adjusts to the room rather than holding one setting, and transparency lets you hear a colleague without taking the headset off.
Battery that outlasts the standard model
Up to 25 hours of talk with ANC off and 20 hours with it on, plus up to 48 hours of listening. A full charge takes two hours, and five minutes on the cable gives another hour of talk — enough to rescue a forgotten charge before a meeting.
Receiver in the box, with an adapter
A USB-C receiver ships with the headset, and a USB-A adapter is in the box for machines with older ports. Connection behaviour is then the same on every computer, which is what makes a fleet rollout predictable.
Managed from Logitech Sync
Logitech Sync handles deployment and firmware across a fleet, while Logi Tune gives the individual user their own settings. For an IT team this is the difference between updating headsets centrally and chasing people at their desks.

Singular Expert Insight
In our office and VoIP headsets range the Zone Wireless 2 ES sits directly against the standard Zone Wireless 2, and the naming does not tell you which is which. The ES is the newer radio and the longer battery; the standard model is the bigger microphone array and the better codecs. Neither is simply an upgrade of the other, and the price difference will not tell you either. Where the ES earns its place is a Teams estate that wants certified hardware, decent ANC and a headset that lasts a full week of calls between charges. Two things to know before you commit: there is no analogue jack at all, and the codec list stops at AAC, so music listeners who care about aptX should look elsewhere. Against the Jabra Evolve2 75 it is lighter by 15 g and has a much longer wireless range on paper, but fewer microphones on the call. For a shared meeting room rather than a personal headset, see our video conferencing range.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You run Microsoft Teams, you want certified hardware with real adaptive ANC and five noise modes, and battery life matters more to you than the size of the microphone array. The off-white finish also suits a desk where a black headset would look out of place.
Skip it if
Skip it if you need a 3.5 mm connection — this model has none at all. Skip it if aptX is on your requirements list, which means the standard Zone Wireless 2 instead. Skip it if you take calls in genuinely noisy rooms and want more microphones working on your voice, where a five- or seven-mic headset will serve you better.
Also consider
The standard Logitech Zone Wireless 2 for a five-microphone array and aptX, the Jabra Evolve2 75 for eight microphones and a 360-degree busylight, or the Dell Pro Premium WL7024 if you also need a charging dock and a 3.5 mm cable.
