M6 12-core CPU16GB unified memory2TB SSD10Gb Ethernet
The Apple Mac mini (2026) in this configuration is a 12.7 cm square desktop built on the M6 chip with a 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, dual 16-core Neural Engine, 16GB of unified memory, a large 2TB SSD and 10Gb Ethernet, aimed at photographers, small studios and offices that keep big libraries locally and move files over a fast network.
This is a configure-to-order (CTO) build based on the standard M6 Mac mini (Apple base MHQK4, 16GB, 256GB, 2.5Gb Ethernet). It keeps the 16GB memory, upgrades the SSD from 256GB to 2TB — eight times the storage — and replaces 2.5Gb Ethernet with the 10Gb Ethernet option.
Before you order: Memory and storage are part of the Apple silicon design and cannot be upgraded after purchase. 16GB suits office, photo and light video work; for virtual machines or local AI ask us about 24GB or 32GB. 10Gb Ethernet only reaches full speed with a 10GbE (or multi-gig) switch, NAS and Cat6A cabling. No display, keyboard or mouse is included.
What's in the Box
- Mac mini (M6, 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU, 16GB, 2TB SSD, 10Gb Ethernet)
- Power cord (1.8 m)
- No display, keyboard, mouse or trackpad — these are sold separately
What It Means in Practice
- 2TB internal SSD holds a large photo library, years of documents and several video projects without an external drive on the desk.
- 10Gb Ethernet makes backups and transfers to a NAS or file server several times faster than gigabit — useful when you sync large libraries or work from shared storage.
- The M6 chip with 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU (with hardware ray tracing and Neural Accelerators) handles Office, Lightroom, Photoshop and 4K editing in Final Cut Pro comfortably.
- Dual 16-core Neural Engine runs Apple Intelligence features on-device, fast and private.
- Up to three external displays: two up to 6K at 60Hz plus a third over Thunderbolt or HDMI.
- Two front USB-C ports and the headphone jack keep everyday connections within reach; it is near-silent at idle.
What Will Not Work
- It has no built-in screen, keyboard or mouse — you need your own monitor and input devices.
- RAM and SSD cannot be upgraded later; 16GB is fixed for the life of the machine.
- There are no USB-A ports and no SD card slot — older USB-A devices and cameras need a USB-C adapter or a hub/dock.
- Ports are Thunderbolt 4 (up to 40Gb/s), not Thunderbolt 5.
- On a gigabit switch or with Cat5e cabling over long runs, the 10Gb port will not reach 10Gb/s.
- Windows cannot be installed natively (no Boot Camp on Apple silicon); Windows on Arm only through virtualisation such as Parallels Desktop. External GPUs (eGPU) are not supported.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need 10Gb Ethernet?
Only if you move large files to a NAS or server and have (or plan) a 10GbE or multi-gig switch. On a normal gigabit office network, the standard 2.5Gb port is enough.
Is 16GB enough?
For office work, browsing, photo editing and 4K editing, yes. For several virtual machines, larger local AI models or heavy multi-layer video, 24GB or 32GB is the better choice — memory cannot be added later.
Can I connect my USB-A keyboard, mouse or printer?
Yes, through a USB-C to USB-A adapter or a USB-C hub/dock — there are no USB-A ports on this Mac mini.
Which plug does the power cord have?
The cord supplied depends on the region of the unit; tell us if you need a specific plug type and we will confirm before ordering.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
This Mac mini puts the budget into storage and networking: 2TB keeps libraries on the fast internal SSD and 10Gb Ethernet makes NAS backups and shared folders quick, while 16GB covers typical office and creative work. Pair it with one of our
PC monitors and a USB-C hub if you still use USB-A devices.
✓ Buy it if you keep large photo or project libraries locally and back up or share files over a 10GbE network.
✕ Skip it if you are on a gigabit network only — the 2.5Gb version costs less — or you run VMs, local AI or heavy video, where more memory matters more than storage.
→ Also consider the M6 Mac mini 16GB/2TB with 2.5Gb Ethernet, the 32GB/1TB 10Gb Ethernet configuration, or the M5 Pro Mac mini for more GPU and Thunderbolt 5.
