Manhattan 355537 HDMI Active Optical Cable with Detachable Connector, 50 m

Fibre-copper hybrid HDMI for 4K 60Hz over 50 m, with a slim end that pulls through conduit before the full-size plug is attached.
4K 60Hz · 18 Gbps50 m fibre hybridDetachable HDMI plugNo external power

The Manhattan 355537 is a 50 m HDMI active optical cable that carries 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video at 18 Gbps over a fibre-copper hybrid core, built for installers who have to pull HDMI through walls, ceilings and conduit. One end is a fixed HDMI Type A plug; the other end is a small Micro HDMI plug with a detachable HDMI Type A adapter, so the thin end can be pulled through tight openings and the full-size head added afterwards. Part number 355537 supports HDR, HDCP 2.2, CEC and ARC and normally runs without external power.

Compatibility Note: Active optical cables are one-way: connect the end marked for the source to the player/PC and the other end to the display, otherwise there is no picture. Not rated as plenum (CMP) cable; Manhattan sells the plenum-rated version separately (355193).

Key Features

Detachable connector for pulling
The Micro HDMI end with a pull cap slips through conduit and small holes; the HDMI Type A adapter clicks on after the run is in place.

Fibre-copper hybrid core
OM3 multimode fibre carries the video, so 4K 60Hz holds over 50 m where passive copper HDMI usually drops out beyond 10–15 m.

Thin and light for its length
4.5 mm outer diameter, 20 mm bend radius and 25 kg pull strength make it easier to route than thick copper HDMI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Manhattan 355537 suitable for installing HDMI in a wall or ceiling?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. The Micro HDMI end with its pull cap passes through conduit and small holes, and the HDMI Type A adapter is attached once the cable is in place. For air-handling (plenum) spaces that require CMP-rated cable, choose Manhattan 355193 instead.
Does the Manhattan 355537 support 4K 120Hz or 8K?
No. It is an 18 Gbps cable for up to 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 with HDR. For 4K 120Hz or 8K 60Hz you need a 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 optical cable.
Does the 355537 need a power supply?
Usually not; it draws power from the HDMI port. If a source provides weak 5 V on the HDMI connector, use the included Micro-USB cable to feed power from a USB port.
Singular Expert Insight
The 355537 makes sense for fixed 4K installations such as projectors, meeting rooms and digital signage where the cable has to go through conduit: the detachable plug solves the problem that full-size HDMI heads do not fit through small openings. It is an HDMI 2.0-class 18 Gbps cable, so it covers 4K 60Hz with HDR but not HDMI 2.1 features.
✓ Buy it if you need 4K 60Hz over 50 m and must pull the cable through conduit or walls.
✕ Skip it if you need 4K 120Hz, 8K or VRR from a console or GPU.
→ Also consider Club 3D CAC-1393 (50 m, HDMI 2.1 48 Gbps AOC) for 8K 60Hz / 4K 120Hz.
