The Manhattan 163767 is a plain, well-built four-port hub: an aluminium block on a 30 cm attached cable, four USB-A ports running USB 3.0 at up to 5 Gbps, with overcurrent protection between a misbehaving device and the computer. Manhattan publishes up to 900 mA per port, which is the full USB 3.x allowance where the host can supply it, and backs the hub with a three-year warranty. Plug and play on Windows and macOS with no drivers.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It is bus-powered with no DC jack — the 900 mA figure is a ceiling and Manhattan states it plainly as “up to 900 mA power or equals power from host port”, so what you actually get depends on your computer. There is no way to add a power supply later, which makes two bus-powered hard drives at once unrealistic. The host plug is USB-A on a fixed 30 cm cable: a laptop with only USB-C needs an adapter you supply, and none is included. Manhattan does not publish a colour for this model — only the aluminium housing. Near-identical siblings are easy to mis-order: 164900, 162296, 164924 (Type-C host) and 164955 (with a power adapter).

What does “up to 900 mA or equals power from host port” actually mean?
It means the hub does not generate power — it passes on what your computer gives it. 900 mA is the USB 3.x standard allowance and the ceiling here, but a laptop that is conserving battery, or a machine with an older controller, may supply less. For keyboards, mice, receivers, flash drives and card readers this is never an issue. For a bus-powered hard drive it is exactly the number that decides whether the drive spins up, and there is no DC jack to add power.
Will it plug into a USB-C laptop?
Not on its own. The cable ends in a full-size USB-A plug and no USB-C adapter is in the box, so a machine with only USB-C ports needs an adapter you supply. Manhattan makes the 164924 with a Type-C host if you would rather buy the right one from the start — tell us the laptop and we will send the correct model.
