Manhattan 163767 — four 5 Gbps ports in an aluminium block
4 x USB-A at 5 GbpsAluminium housingOvercurrent protectionThree-year Manhattan warranty
The Manhattan 163767 is a plain, well-built four-port hub: an aluminium block on a 30 cm attached cable, four USB-A ports running USB 3.0 at up to 5 Gbps, with overcurrent protection between a misbehaving device and the computer. Manhattan publishes up to 900 mA per port, which is the full USB 3.x allowance where the host can supply it, and backs the hub with a three-year warranty. Plug and play on Windows and macOS with no drivers.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It is bus-powered with no DC jack — the 900 mA figure is a ceiling and Manhattan states it plainly as “up to 900 mA power or equals power from host port”, so what you actually get depends on your computer. There is no way to add a power supply later, which makes two bus-powered hard drives at once unrealistic. The host plug is USB-A on a fixed 30 cm cable: a laptop with only USB-C needs an adapter you supply, and none is included. Manhattan does not publish a colour for this model — only the aluminium housing. Near-identical siblings are easy to mis-order: 164900, 162296, 164924 (Type-C host) and 164955 (with a power adapter).
Best For
✓ Desktops and laptops that still have USB-A
✓ Mice, keyboards and wireless receivers
✓ Flash drives and card readers
✓ Desks that want a solid metal block, not plastic
✓ Small offices and shared workstations
✓ Anyone who wants a published three-year warranty
Key Features
Aluminium, and it stays put
A 95 x 51 x 26 mm aluminium housing at 86 g — heavy enough that four cables do not drag it off the desk, and rigid enough to survive being carried between machines.
A published current ceiling
Manhattan states up to 900 mA per port, the full USB 3.x allowance, and is honest that the practical figure depends on the host. Most hubs at this price publish nothing at all.
Protection where it matters
Built-in overcurrent protection isolates a faulty or shorted device instead of letting it pull down the computer — the feature you never notice until the day you need it.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the honest middle of our USB hub range: no charging tricks, no Ethernet, no card reader — four ports at 5 Gbps in a metal block that stays where you put it. Two things separate it from the pile of similar hubs. Manhattan publishes an actual per-port current figure and is candid that it depends on the host, which is more information than most competitors give. And the three-year manufacturer warranty is real and printed on the datasheet, where a large part of this category publishes no term at all. What you do not get is headroom: bus-powered with no DC jack, so this is a hub for peripherals and USB flash drives, and anything that spins wants either its own mains adapter or the Manhattan 164955, which includes one.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need four solid USB 3.0 ports on a machine that has a USB-A socket. You want an aluminium body with overcurrent protection rather than a plastic block. A published three-year manufacturer warranty matters to you.
Skip it if
You need to run bus-powered hard drives — there is no DC jack and no way to add power. Your laptop only has USB-C, since no adapter is included. You need more than four ports, Ethernet or a card reader.
Also consider
Manhattan 164955 for a four-port hub that ships with a power adapter. Manhattan 164924 if your host port is USB-C. A seven-port powered hub if four sockets will not be enough.
