Manhattan Universal Laptop Combination Lock — Wedge, Nano and K-Slot
3 slot typesResettable code1.8 m steel cableLifetime warranty
The Manhattan 440301 is a universal combination cable lock that fits the three common laptop security slots — Noble Wedge, Nano and the standard Kensington K-Slot — so one model can secure a mixed fleet of Dell, HP, Lenovo and other laptops, monitors and docks.
There are no keys to lose: a 4-wheel combination with 10,000 possible codes is reset with a small reset button, and the ball-joint head rotates 360° and pivots 90° so the cable can leave the device in whichever direction suits the desk.
What's in the Box
- Manhattan universal combination lock with 1.8 m steel cable (foam spacer fitted)
- Instructions
What It Means in Practice
- One lock type for a mixed fleet: Wedge-slot Dell laptops, Nano-slot thin laptops and K-Slot monitors or docks all use the same model.
- Set your own 4-digit code on arrival and keep a record of it — with a combination lock, the code is the only way in.
- The rotating, pivoting head lets the cable run along the desk instead of pulling sideways on the slot.
- The foam spacer protects the device finish around the slot.
What Will Not Work
- Devices with no security slot (many MacBooks and some consumer ultrabooks) — an adhesive anchor plate is needed instead.
- Central master-key or master-code management — each lock has its own code.
- Slots other than Noble Wedge (3.2 x 4.5 mm), Nano (2.5 x 6 mm) and K-Slot (3 x 7 mm).

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For IT departments with laptops from several brands, a universal head is usually cheaper than stocking three different locks, and a combination avoids lost-key tickets. The trade-off is code discipline: keep a register of codes. If the same desks also host docking stations, see our docking stations range.
✓ Buy it if you secure a mix of Wedge, Nano and K-Slot devices and prefer codes over keys.
✕ Skip it if you need master-key control for a large fleet, or your devices have no security slot.
→ Also consider Manhattan 440486 keyed lock if all your laptops use the Nano slot and you prefer keys.
