Manhattan 161572 — ten USB 2.0 ports on a 190 mm desktop strip
10 x USB-A5 V / 2 A adapter included150 cm detachable cableThree-year Manhattan warranty
The Manhattan 161572 is a long, slim desktop hub with ten USB 2.0 ports, and it arrives with everything needed to use them: a 5 V / 2 A power adapter and a detachable 150 cm Type-A to Type-B cable. Manhattan publishes 500 mA per port — the full USB 2.0 allowance — and the hub can run either bus-powered from the computer or on the supplied adapter when all ten sockets are in use. A power LED shows it is live, devices are hot-swappable, and no driver is needed on Windows or macOS.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Every port is USB 2.0 at up to 480 Mbps, shared across all ten — an external SSD or a modern flash drive will work but at a small fraction of its speed. This is a peripheral hub, not a storage hub. The supplied adapter is 10 W, while ten ports at 500 mA each would ask for more, so full current on every socket at once is not realistic. Manhattan also notes the hub must be connected to a computer for phone charging — it is not a standalone charger. The host cable is Type-A to Type-B; a laptop with only USB-C needs an adapter you supply.
Best For
✓ Desks and benches with a lot of small devices
✓ Reception, POS and barcode scanner setups
✓ Licence and security dongles that stay plugged in
✓ Keyboards, mice and wireless receivers
✓ Lab and test rigs that need many ports
✓ Anyone whose computer has simply run out of sockets
Key Features
Ten ports, adapter included
A 5 V / 2 A supply comes in the box, so the ports can be fed from the mains rather than dividing one computer socket ten ways — the usual reason a device drops off a crowded hub.
A published per-port figure
Manhattan states up to 500 mA on all ports, the full USB 2.0 allowance. Most hubs at this level publish nothing, which turns planning into guesswork.
A cable you can replace or lengthen
The 150 cm Type-A to Type-B lead is detachable, so it can be swapped for a longer one when the tower sits under the desk, and a damaged cable does not mean a new hub.

Singular Expert Insight
Ten ports at this price is only possible because it is USB 2.0, and for what people actually plug into a long desktop hub — keyboards, mice, receivers, scanners, dongles, serial adapters, test hardware — 480 Mbps has never been the constraint. Where it is the wrong tool is storage: moving files to and from USB flash drives at USB 2.0 speed is the difference between seconds and minutes, and that is what the 5 Gbps models in our USB hub range are for. Two things put this one ahead of the generic ten-port hub: Manhattan publishes an actual per-port current figure rather than staying silent, and the three-year manufacturer warranty is real and printed on the datasheet, which is unusual in this category. The detachable 150 cm cable is a quiet third advantage — most hubs at this length have a captive lead.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need a lot of ports for low-speed devices and you want the adapter and cable in the box. You are connecting keyboards, mice, receivers, scanners and dongles rather than fast storage. A published three-year manufacturer warranty matters to you.
Skip it if
You are connecting external SSDs or drives and care about speed — USB 2.0 shared across ten ports is the wrong hub. You want a standalone charging station: it only charges while attached to a computer. Your laptop has only USB-C ports.
Also consider
A 5 Gbps powered hub if any of the devices are storage. A USB-C hub if the machine has no full-size USB port. A dedicated multi-port charger if charging rather than data is the job.
