The Manhattan 355230 is a 0.5 m USB-C extension cable with a male plug at one end and a female socket at the other, specified for USB 3.2 Gen 2 at up to 10 Gbps, 100 W of charging at 5 A and DisplayPort 1.2 Alternate Mode video up to 4K at 60 Hz. It is the cable to use when a docking station, monitor lead or USB-C drive will not quite reach the port, and it carries a Manhattan lifetime warranty.

Before you buy Extensions sit outside the USB-C specification, so the result depends on the host and the attached device: this one is rated for 10 Gbps and 100 W, not for Thunderbolt 40 Gbps links or 240 W EPR charging. Manhattan does not publish the conductor gauge or material for this cable.

Will it extend a Thunderbolt dock cable?
Not at Thunderbolt speed. The 355230 is rated to USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps, so a Thunderbolt 40 Gbps link will drop back or fail to connect. Keep Thunderbolt docks on their own certified cable.
Does video still pass through the extension?
Yes. With a host that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, the cable carries up to 4K at 60 Hz, so a single 4K monitor or any 1080p and 1440p display works normally.
