MediaRange MR908 — 8 GB USB 2.0 Swivel Flash Drive
8 GB capacityUSB 2.0 Type-AAluminium swivel, no cap to loseRead up to 17 MB/s / write 4 MB/s
The MediaRange MR908 is a 8 GB USB 2.0 flash drive with an aluminium swivel housing over an ABS body, sold under the MediaRange part number MR908 and EAN 4260057124821. It is the classic silver-and-black swivel stick: the metal clip rotates over the USB plug to protect it, so there is no separate cap to lose. MediaRange publishes a read speed of up to 17 MB/s and a write speed of 4 MB/s for this 8 GB version, which puts it firmly in the document, photo and small-file category rather than video work. Filling all 8 GB at the published write speed takes roughly 34 minutes, so buy it for handing files over, backups of office documents and driver or firmware sticks — not for daily large transfers. If you are unsure whether USB 2.0 is enough for what you do, tell us what you plan to copy and we will point you to the right drive.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The plug is USB Type-A. It works in any USB-A port on a PC, laptop, TV, car stereo or printer, and it also runs in USB 3.x ports at USB 2.0 speed. It does NOT fit a phone, tablet or a laptop that has only USB-C ports unless you add a USB-C to USB-A adapter. It ships pre-formatted as FAT32, which every TV, car radio and camera reads, but FAT32 limits a single file to 4 GB — reformat to exFAT if you need to store a single file larger than that. Do not confuse it with the multi-packs: MR910-3 is three separate 16 GB drives, and MR911 is the 32 GB size.

✓ Handing documents and presentations to colleagues or clients
✓ Driver, BIOS and firmware sticks kept in a drawer
✓ Printing or scanning from USB on office printers and copiers
✓ Photos and music on a TV, car stereo or media player
✓ Small backups of office files, not video archives
✓ Keyring use — the swivel clip has no cap to lose
Key Features
Swivel housing, nothing to lose
An aluminium clip rotates over the USB plug. There is no cap to misplace and the plug stays covered in a pocket or bag. The body underneath is ABS plastic, silver and black.
Honest USB 2.0 speed
MediaRange publishes up to 17 MB/s read and 4 MB/s write for the 8 GB size. A folder of documents copies in seconds; a full 8 GB takes about 34 minutes to write.
Plug and play everywhere
Pre-formatted FAT32, no driver, no software. MediaRange lists Windows, macOS and Linux, and it also works in TVs, car radios, printers and games consoles that accept a USB stick.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MR908 fast enough for video files?
Not really. At 4 MB/s write, a 2 GB film takes about 9 minutes to copy onto it. It is designed for documents, photos and music. For regular video work choose a USB 3.2 Gen 1 drive.
Does the MR908 work with a phone or a USB-C laptop?
Only through a USB-C to USB-A adapter, because the plug is standard USB-A. If your device has only USB-C, tell us and we will suggest a USB-C or dual-plug drive instead.
What is the difference between the MR908 and the MR908-3 or MR908NTRL?
The MR908-3 is a three-pack of separate 8 GB drives, not one larger drive. The MR908NTRL is the same drive without the MediaRange imprint, bulk packed for companies that print their own logo.
How much fits on 8 GB?
Roughly 2,000 photos from a phone, or about 1,500 MP3 tracks, or tens of thousands of documents. Films are the exception: one HD film can take 2 to 4 GB on its own.
Singular Expert Insight
Within the MediaRange USB 2.0 swivel ladder (MR907 4 GB, MR908 8 GB, MR910 16 GB, MR911 32 GB, MR912 64 GB, MR913 128 GB) the MR908 is the 8 GB step. The write speed is the number that matters: 4 MB/s is enough for office files and photos, but if you copy video regularly, step up to the USB-C MR1951 or a USB 3.2 Gen 1 stick and the wait drops dramatically. Tell us how you will use it and we will confirm it is the right size and speed before you order.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need a cheap, sturdy 8 GB stick for documents, photos, printer jobs or a driver kit, and you like a metal swivel with no cap to lose.
Skip it if
You copy video or multi-gigabyte files regularly — 4 MB/s write means a full 8 GB takes about 34 minutes. Or your laptop or phone has only USB-C.
Also consider
The MR911 32 GB if you want more room, the MR910-3 three-pack for hand-outs, or the MR1951 USB-C 16 GB for a USB-C laptop.
