MediaRange MR975 — 8 GB USB 2.0 Paper-Clip Stick, Blue

8 GB capacityUSB 2.0 Type-AClips onto paper, 38 x 4 x 7 mmRead 14 / write 4 MB/s

The MediaRange MR975 is a 8 GB USB 2.0 flash drive shaped like a paper clip: a flat blue body of 38 x 4 x 7 mm and 2 g that clips onto a document, a folder or a business card so the files travel with the paper. MediaRange sells it under part number MR975 and EAN 4260459611578 and publishes up to 14 MB/s read and 4 MB/s write for it. That is a documents-and-photos speed: a presentation copies in seconds, a full 8 GB takes roughly 34 minutes to write, and video is not what it is for. It is a hand-out drive with a purpose — proposals, quotes, course material clipped to the printed copy. Tell us how many you need and we will quote them together.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The plug is USB Type-A. It works in any USB-A port and runs in USB 3.x ports at USB 2.0 speed; it does NOT fit a phone or a USB-C-only laptop without a USB-C to USB-A adapter. It is only 4 mm thick, so it slides in beside neighbouring ports easily, but it is also easy to bend if forced — insert it straight. It ships FAT32 pre-formatted, which every TV, printer and camera reads, with a 4 GB per-file limit. Do not confuse it with the MediaRange Nano (MR920 to MR923): resellers sometimes call this stick a Nano, but the Nano is a small aluminium block that stays in the port, while the paper-clip stick is a flat plastic clip. The series is MR975 8 GB blue, MR976 16 GB yellow, MR977 32 GB green — colour and capacity go together.

Best For

✓ Proposals, quotes and reports clipped to the printed copy
✓ Course material handed out to students
✓ Conference and trade-show give-aways
✓ Documents kept with a paper file in the cabinet
✓ Printing from USB on office machines
✓ Anyone who wants a stick that stays with the paperwork

Key Features

A clip, not a stick
The flat body clips onto paper, a folder or a lanyard. Files stay with the document they belong to, and at 2 g you will not notice it in an envelope.

Honest USB 2.0 speed
MediaRange publishes up to 14 MB/s read and 4 MB/s write. Documents and photos are quick; a full 8 GB takes about 34 minutes to write, so it is not for video.

Plug and play
No driver and no software. MediaRange lists Windows, macOS and Linux, and the clip also works in TVs and printers that read USB drives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MR975 the same as a MediaRange Nano?
No. The Nano is a tiny aluminium block that stays in the port; the paper-clip stick is a flat plastic clip that fastens to documents. Some resellers mix the names up.
Will it survive being clipped to paper in a bag?
It is made for that, but it is 4 mm thin plastic: do not bend it or force it into a port at an angle.
Is it fast enough for video?
Not for regular use. At 4 MB/s write a 2 GB film takes about 9 minutes to copy on. It is a documents drive.
Does it work with a phone or a USB-C laptop?
Only through a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Ask us for a USB-C drive if your devices are USB-C only.
Singular Expert Insight

Buy the paper-clip stick for what it does uniquely: it travels with the paper. 8 GB is plenty for proposals and course packs; the yellow MR976 16 GB is the step up if photos or a video clip must ride along. For a personal everyday drive, a swivel stick such as the MR908 or MR910 is sturdier. Tell us the quantity and the use and we will advise.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You hand out documents and want the files clipped to the printed copy, or you like a drive that stays with a paper file.

Skip it if

You need a sturdy everyday stick, copy video, or your devices are USB-C only.

Also consider

The yellow MR976 16 GB if photos ride along, the green MR977 32 GB for more room, or the MR908 swivel 8 GB as a sturdier everyday stick.
