MediaRange MR922 32 GB Nano — 20 mm, 3 g, Key Hanger Supplied
32 GBUSB 2.0, Type-A20 x 12 x 4 mm, 3 gKey hanger included
The MediaRange MR922 is a 32 GB USB 2.0 nano flash drive in an aluminium body just 20 x 12 x 4 mm and 3 g. Almost nothing protrudes once it is in the port, which is why MediaRange points at car stereos and laptops as the use case. A nylon key hanger is supplied in the pack, and the drive arrives pre-formatted exFAT.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack, so it will not enter a phone, a tablet or a USB-C-only laptop. It is built to be left in, and that is also its main limitation — a drive this small is hard to grip and awkward to pull out of a tight or recessed port. If you will be swapping it between machines several times a day, a full-size stick is the easier tool; that is what the key hanger in the pack is for. Be clear about the bus: this is USB 2.0, published at 15 MB/s read and 5 MB/s write. It is a form-factor product, not a fast one. MediaRange’s nano family is just four items —
MR920 8 GB, MR921 16 GB, MR922 32 GB and MR923 64 GB — all black, and there is no USB 3 nano and no colour choice in the range at all. If you have seen a MediaRange nano described as green, that is the MR977 paper-clip stick, a different product entirely with no key hanger. Note also the operating range: 0 to 45 °C, narrower than most drives.Best For
✓ Leaving permanently in a car stereo, a laptop, a TV or a media player
✓ Adding storage to a device with a spare USB-A port and no room for a full-size stick
✓ Machines where a protruding stick would be snapped off
✓ Documents, music and photographs you want always available
✓ Carrying on keys — the nylon hanger is supplied
✓ Anyone who does not want to remember to bring the drive
Key Features
20 x 12 x 4 mm, 3 grams
A nano drive in the proper sense. Inserted, it barely stands proud of the socket, so a laptop lid closes over it and a car dashboard does not catch it.
Aluminium, not plastic
The body is aluminium. At this size that matters — a plastic nano drive left permanently in a car gets brittle, and there is very little of it to hold together.
Key hanger in the pack
MediaRange supplies a nylon hanger with the nano drives specifically. On a drive this easy to mislay, that is the difference between keeping it and losing it.
exFAT out of the box
Pre-formatted exFAT rather than FAT32, so a single file larger than 4 GB is allowed. Useful if you are putting a long video or a disc image on it.

Singular Expert Insight
The MR922 is a shape rather than a specification. Judged as storage it is slow — 15 MB/s read, 5 MB/s write, USB 2.0 — and judged as a thing to leave permanently in a car stereo or a laptop it is close to ideal, because there is nothing sticking out to snap off and the aluminium body survives being there. Fill it once and read from it and you will never think about the speed. Use it as a working drive you write to daily and you will. The key hanger in the box is a nice acknowledgement that a 3 g drive is easy to lose. If you want low profile on a faster bus, ask us — there are options in our USB flash drives range. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want to add 32 GB to a car, a laptop, a TV or a media player and leave it there, with almost nothing protruding, in a metal body.
Skip it if
You will move the drive between machines every day, or you write large files often — 5 MB/s is slow. Or you need a USB-C connector.
Also consider
