MediaRange MR930-2 — 8 GB USB 2.0 Combo Flash Drive with USB-A and Micro-USB (OTG) Plugs

8 GB capacityUSB-A + micro-USB plugsFor OTG Android phones with micro-USBRead 17 / write 4 MB/s

The MediaRange MR930-2 is an 8 GB USB 2.0 combo flash drive with two plugs: a standard USB-A for computers and a micro-USB plug for Android phones and tablets that support OTG. A silver aluminium swivel covers whichever plug is not in use, so there is no cap to lose, and the black body measures 70.5 x 11.6 x 19.5 mm and weighs about 17 g. MediaRange sells it under part number MR930-2 and EAN 4260664871682, and publishes up to 17 MB/s read and 4 MB/s write for this 8 GB size. Its purpose is simple: copy photos or documents off an older micro-USB phone and plug the same drive straight into a PC, TV or printer — no cable, no cloud. Before you buy, check the phone: this only helps if it has a micro-USB port and supports OTG. Tell us the model and we will confirm.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Two plugs, two rules. The USB-A plug works in any USB-A port on a PC, laptop, TV or printer. The micro-USB plug fits only phones and tablets that have a micro-USB port AND support USB OTG — most Android devices from the micro-USB era do, but a phone with a USB-C port will NOT accept it, and iPhones and iPads never did. If your phone is USB-C, this is the wrong drive; look at a USB-C combo instead. It ships FAT32 pre-formatted, which Android and every TV read, with a 4 GB per-file limit. The MR931-2 and MR932-2 are the 16 GB and 32 GB sizes of the same drive — the -2 is part of the article number, not a two-pack.

Best For

✓ Copying photos off an older micro-USB Android phone
✓ Moving documents from a micro-USB tablet to a PC
✓ Freeing space on a phone without a cable or cloud
✓ Watching phone videos on a TV via the USB-A plug
✓ Printing phone documents on an office printer
✓ Anyone with a micro-USB device who wants an offline transfer route

Key Features

One drive, two plugs
USB-A on one end for computers and TVs, micro-USB on the other for OTG-capable Android phones and tablets. Copy on the phone, read on the PC, with no cable in between.

Aluminium swivel, nothing to lose
The metal clip rotates to cover whichever plug is idle. No cap, no cover, and the body is small enough for a keyring.

Speed to match its job
MediaRange publishes up to 17 MB/s read and 4 MB/s write for the 8 GB. Photos and documents move in moments; a full 8 GB takes about 34 minutes to write, so it is a transfer drive, not a video archive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the MR930-2 work with my phone?
Only if the phone has a micro-USB port and supports OTG. Most Android phones of the micro-USB era do. A USB-C phone or any iPhone will not take it. Tell us the model and we will check before you order.
Is the -2 a two-pack?
No. MR930-2 is a single 8 GB drive; the -2 is simply part of MediaRange’s article number. The 16 GB is MR931-2 and the 32 GB is MR932-2.
Can I use it just as a normal USB stick?
Yes. The USB-A plug makes it an ordinary 8 GB USB 2.0 drive for any PC, TV or printer; the micro-USB plug is a bonus for phones.
Why is the write speed lower than the 16 GB version?
MediaRange publishes 4 MB/s write for the 8 GB and 6 MB/s for the 16 GB and 32 GB. If you copy a lot of photos, the MR931-2 is worth the small step up.
Singular Expert Insight

This is a niche drive that is exactly right for one job: an older micro-USB Android phone or tablet that needs its photos moved without a cable or an account. If the phone is USB-C, do not buy it — ask us for a USB-C dual drive instead. Within the series, the MR931-2 16 GB is the better buy for photo transfers because MediaRange publishes a higher write speed for it; the 8 GB MR930-2 is enough for documents.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You have a micro-USB Android phone or tablet with OTG support and want to move photos and documents to a PC or TV without a cable.

Skip it if

Your phone is USB-C or an iPhone — the micro-USB plug will not fit — or you want a fast drive for large video files.

Also consider

The MR931-2 16 GB (6 MB/s write) for photo transfers, or a USB-C dual-plug drive such as the Emtec D280 if your phone is USB-C.
