MediaRange MR1952 32 GB — USB-C Only, Aluminium Swivel, 70 MB/s
32 GBUSB-C connector only70 MB/s read / 20 MB/s writeAluminium swivel, 12 g
The MediaRange MR1952 is a 32 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a single USB-C connector protected by an aluminium swivel cover. MediaRange publishes read speeds of up to 70 MB/s and write speeds of up to 20 MB/s. It measures 56 x 18 x 10 mm, weighs about 12 g, arrives pre-formatted exFAT, and has no cap to lose.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? This drive has a USB-C connector and nothing else. There is no USB-A end and no adapter in the pack, so it will not plug into an older laptop, a desktop tower, a car stereo or a television without an adapter you supply yourself. That is the reverse of the usual warning — most flash drives are USB-A only and cannot reach a phone; this one is USB-C only and cannot reach an older computer. It suits modern laptops, Android phones and tablets with USB-C, recent iPhones, and Macs. Something genuinely odd about this family, worth knowing before you order a different size: MediaRange’s published speeds for the USB-C swivel range are not in capacity order.
MR1951 16 GB is 50 / 15, this MR1952 32 GB is 70 / 20, MR1953 64 GB drops back to 50 / 15, then MR1954 128 GB is 80 / 25 and MR1955 256 GB is 100 / 30. So the 32 GB is faster than the 64 GB on MediaRange’s own figures. Note also the operating range: 0 to 45 °C, narrower than most drives, and no keyring or lanyard is supplied.Best For
✓ Modern laptops with USB-C ports and no USB-A left
✓ Android phones and tablets with USB-C, and recent iPhones
✓ Moving photographs and video off a phone without a cloud account
✓ Macs, where USB-C is often all there is
✓ Anyone who has already replaced every other cable with USB-C
✓ A small metal drive that does not look like a giveaway
Key Features
USB-C, straight in
No adapter, no dongle, no dual-ended body. On a machine or a phone whose ports are all USB-C, this simply plugs in.
Faster than its 64 GB sibling
MediaRange publishes 70 MB/s read and 20 MB/s write for this 32 GB, against 50 / 15 for the 64 GB MR1953. That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly: at this capacity you are not paying for the slow end of the range.
Aluminium swivel cover
The cover rotates around the connector instead of pulling off, so nothing can be lost. Aluminium and ABS rather than all plastic, which is why it weighs 12 g rather than 8.
exFAT out of the box
Pre-formatted exFAT rather than FAT32, so a single file larger than 4 GB copies across without reformatting. Useful when the point of the drive is pulling video off a phone.

Singular Expert Insight
The MR1952 solves a real and increasingly common problem: a laptop or a phone with nothing but USB-C ports and a stick of files that needs to move. It does it in aluminium, at 12 g, with a swivel you cannot lose, and — unusually — at this capacity it is the quicker end of its own family rather than the slower. Two things to hold on to before you order: it is USB-C only, so it is useless on an older computer without your own adapter, and its published operating range stops at 45 °C, which is narrower than most. If you need both connector types on one body, the dual-ended drives in our USB flash drives range are the answer — tell us which devices you need to reach and we will pick one. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Every device you need to reach has a USB-C port, you want a small metal drive with nothing to lose, and 70 MB/s read is enough for what you carry.
Skip it if
You also need to plug into an older USB-A computer — there is no adapter in the pack. Or you need a keyring supplied, or a stated warranty period.
Also consider
MR1954 or MR1955 for 128 or 256 GB at 80 / 25 and 100 / 30. A dual-ended USB-C and USB-A drive if you need to reach both kinds of machine. A USB-A only drive if none of your ports are USB-C.
