Compatibility — check before buying:
CPU support: AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, Ryzen 5000 G-Series, Ryzen 4000 G-Series and Ryzen 3000 Series on Socket AM4. MSI states it is not compatible with the Ryzen 5 3400G and Ryzen 3 3200G — those two older APUs will not work on this board. Video outputs need an APU: the HDMI and DisplayPort connectors on the rear panel only produce a picture with a processor that has integrated graphics (the G-Series parts). A Ryzen 5 5600X or 5800X has no iGPU, so a graphics card is mandatory with those. Lane sharing: fitting a PCIe SSD in the second M.2 slot (M.2_2) disables the PCI_E2 expansion slot — plan your add-in cards accordingly. Network speed: the wired port is 1 Gigabit, not 2.5 Gigabit, despite the Wi-Fi 6E radio.
