What Will Not Work

LGA1700 processors and DDR4 memory are incompatible.
M.2 SATA SSDs cannot be used in M.2_1 or M.2_2.
The onboard Thunderbolt port is Thunderbolt 4; the internal Thunderbolt 5 card connector does not provide an onboard Thunderbolt 5 port.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all four expansion slots electrically x16?
No. Only PCI_E1 provides x16 bandwidth; the others operate at x1 or x4.
Does USB4 run at 40Gbps on this board?
MSI specifies up to 20Gbps for USB4 devices through the Thunderbolt 4 port. The 40Gbps figure applies to Thunderbolt devices.
Is the front USB-C port included on the rear panel?
The front USB-C header connects to a compatible case port. The rear panel has its own USB-C and Thunderbolt connectors.
