The MSI SPATIUM M452 1TB (part number S78-440L970-P83) is an entry-level PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD rated up to 3,600 MB/s read and 3,100 MB/s write, made for budget builds, office PCs and laptop upgrades.

It uses the Phison E29T 2-channel controller with 3D NAND in a DRAM-less design, which keeps power and cost low while delivering about six times the speed of a SATA SSD.

Compatibility note: Entry-class, DRAM-less drive: its speeds are similar to a good PCIe 3.0 SSD, so it works equally well in Gen3 and Gen4 slots. Not intended for heavy sustained-write workloads.
