The Neomounts NSLS300BLACK is a vertical aluminium laptop holder that keeps a closed 11 to 17 inch notebook standing upright on its edge, freeing desk space for anyone who works on an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. The holder slot adjusts in width from 1.1 to 4.5 cm, so the same stand takes a thin ultrabook as well as a thicker business or gaming laptop, up to a maximum weight of 5 kg.
This is a storage and docking-style stand, not a riser: the laptop sits closed while you work on a bigger screen. If you want to type on the laptop itself with its screen raised to eye level, you need an open laptop stand instead (see the Buyer's Guide below).
Before you order: This holder keeps the laptop CLOSED and upright. You cannot use the laptop keyboard or built-in screen while it sits in the holder, so plan on an external monitor, keyboard and mouse or a docking station.

What It Means in Practice
- Clamshell mode: connect the laptop to a dock or USB-C monitor, close the lid and stand it in the holder, so the desk only has your main screen and peripherals.
- The adjustable slot width (1.1-4.5 cm) lets you set the grip to your laptop's thickness, so the notebook does not wobble or lean.
- The 11-17 inch range is indicative; Neomounts states the 5 kg weight limit is the absolute limit, so check the weight of heavier 17 inch workstations.
- Standing the laptop vertically also leaves both sides open for cables and air flow while it runs closed.
What Will Not Work
- Typing on the laptop or using its built-in display while it is in the holder: the laptop must be closed.
- Laptops thinner than 1.1 cm or thicker than 4.5 cm at the base: the slot cannot grip them securely.
- Laptops heavier than 5 kg.
- Tablets or phones with no external display setup: they would simply be stored, not usable.
- It has no tilt or height adjustment and does not fold, so it is not a travel stand.
