The NETGEAR AXM765v2 (AXM765-20000S) is a copper SFP+ module that turns an SFP+ cage into a 10GBASE-T RJ-45 port, reaching up to 80 m on Cat6a or Cat7 cable. It is listed for NETGEAR’s M4250, M4300 and M4500 switches and is used to connect 10G servers, NAS units and workstations over copper. In practice, a copper module is the quickest way to connect a nearby device that only has an RJ-45 port, without buying a media converter. Use fibre for anything beyond the copper reach shown in the table.
Compatibility — check before buying:
NETGEAR publishes it as a 10 Gbps module and lists no 1G, 2.5G or 5G modes, so do not plan it for a multi-gig device. It needs Cat6a or Cat7; on the M4250-16XF it is supported on ports 1–12 only.
