Good Connections OS2 Singlemode Fibre Patch Cable — LC/APC to LC/APC, Simplex, 2 m
OS2 9/125 µmLC – LC APC2 m SimplexLSZH Yellow
The Good Connections LW-SA902LALA is a 2 m simplex OS2 singlemode fibre optic patch cable with LC/APC on one end and LC/APC on the other, built on 9/125 µm fibre (G.657.A2) in a LSZH yellow jacket, 2.0 mm in diameter. It is made for FTTH/FTTx and PON installations and single-fibre links, connecting ONTs, splitters, termination boxes and BiDi optics.
LC is the small-form connector used by SFP/SFP+ transceivers and most current switch and media-converter fibre ports. Both ends are LC, so it connects two LC ports or an LC port to an LC coupler in a panel.
Before you order: Both ends are APC (angled polish, normally green connectors). APC only mates with APC — do not plug it into UPC (blue) ports or couplers; the mismatch causes high loss and can damage the end-faces.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Good Connections simplex fibre optic patch cable, LC/APC – LC/APC, 2 m
- Dust caps fitted on the connectors
- Individual test report (measurement protocol) for the cable
- Transceivers, couplers and cleaning tools are not included
What It Means in Practice
- Simplex means one fibre. It suits PON/FTTH drops and BiDi transceivers that use a single fibre; for a separate transmit/receive pair you need two simplex cables or a duplex cable.
- 2 m is the end-to-end length. Measure the route including slack in cable managers and trays before ordering — fibre should never be pulled tight or kinked.
- Minimum bend radius is 7.5 mm — keep loops wider than that in racks, boxes and trays. The G.657.A2 fibre is bend-insensitive, so it tolerates tighter routing than standard G.652 fibre.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work with multimode SR/SX transceivers or multimode fibre runs.
- It will not work in UPC (blue, flat-polish) ports, couplers or patch panels — APC needs APC.
- It does not plug into SC, ST, MPO ports. If one end of your link is different, tell us the ports and we will match the right cable.
- It is an indoor patch cord, not an outdoor or direct-burial cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my SFP or SFP+ module?
Yes, if the module has an LC port and is a singlemode type (LX, LR, 1310/1550 nm, or BiDi for simplex). Standard two-fibre SFP optics need a duplex LC pair; a simplex cable is for BiDi or PON optics.
UPC or APC — does it matter?
Yes. UPC (flat, blue) and APC (8° angle, green) end-faces must never be mixed. This cable is APC; use it only with APC ports and couplers, as found on most FTTH/PON equipment.
Can I get a different length?
Send us the distance between the two ports and we will quote the nearest length in the same fibre type and connectors, so you do not end up with too much slack or a cable that is too short.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most fibre faults we see come from three mismatches: singlemode versus multimode, UPC versus APC, and the wrong connector at one end. This Good Connections cord is OS2, APC, LC to LC — confirm those three on both devices and it will simply work. For the equipment side, see our
modems and ONTs.
✓ Buy it if your link is OS2 singlemode, both ports are LC with APC polish, and 2 m covers the route with a little slack.
✕ Skip it if either end uses a different connector or polish, your transceivers are multimode (SR/SX), or you need an outdoor-rated cable.
→ Also consider a duplex cable if your optics use separate transmit and receive fibres, or a coupler if you are extending an existing drop.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
