The Ubiquiti UniFi Protect G5 PTZ (UVC-G5-PTZ-B) is a compact black pan-tilt-zoom camera that lets one camera cover what would otherwise need two or three. A 5MP 1/2.7″ sensor records 2688 x 1512 at 30 fps through a 3.42–6.85 mm lens with 2x optical zoom, the head pans 350° and tilts 100°, and night vision combines 20 m IR with a white LED. It needs PoE+ (max. 14 W) and is IP66 rated from −30 °C to 45 °C.

Compatibility — check before buying:
In the box: G5 PTZ camera with mount (pole fitting for 38–50 mm poles per Ubiquiti’s specs). Not in the box: UniFi console or NVR running Protect, PoE+ switch or injector, network cable. Needs UniFi Protect: the camera is adopted and recorded by UniFi Protect running on a UniFi console or NVR (for example a Cloud Gateway, UNVR or Cloud Key); it is not a standalone camera for third-party recorders. PoE+ required: it draws up to 14 W, so a standard 802.3af port is not enough; use 802.3at (PoE+). Night range: IR reaches 20 m, shorter than the 30 m of the G6 cameras. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a UniFi console?
Yes. UniFi Protect cameras are adopted, configured and recorded by UniFi Protect, which runs on a UniFi console or NVR such as a Cloud Gateway, Cloud Key or UNVR. Recording goes to that device’s drive; for 24/7 recording use surveillance hard drives. If you do not have one yet, tell us how many cameras you plan and we suggest the right console.
What PoE do I need?
PoE+ (802.3at). Ubiquiti lists a maximum of 14 W, which is more than a standard 802.3af port supplies. Check your switch; see our PoE switches for PoE+ models.
Does it follow people automatically?
Ubiquiti’s spec page lists pan, tilt, 2x zoom and AI detections for people, vehicles and animals; it does not state automatic tracking on the spec page, so ask us about the current Protect feature set before relying on it.
Is 2x zoom enough?
It narrows the view from 99.7° to 45.5°, enough to get closer to a gate or door across a yard. For long-distance identification you would need a camera with a longer lens.
Singular Expert Insight
The G5 PTZ earns its place where one camera has to look in several directions, such as the middle of a yard or shop. If the view never changes, a fixed G6 Turret or G6 Bullet gives 4K and 30 m IR at lower power. Remember the PoE+ port. Browse IP cameras and our PoE switches.
