Pattex Gel Compact Contact Adhesive — 50 g Non-Drip Tube
Contact adhesiveNon-drip gel50 g tube-40 to +70 °C
Pattex Kraftkleber Gel Compact (PT50N) is a 50 g tube of non-drip contact adhesive gel from Henkel for strong, permanent bonds on wood, laminates, leather, rubber, cork, felt, rigid PVC, metal, ABS and acrylic. It is the repair glue for office, workshop and home jobs where parts have to hold immediately under load.
Because it is a gel, it does not drip or string and stays where you put it, which makes it suited to vertical surfaces and edge banding. As a contact adhesive, you coat both surfaces, let it flash off, then press them together — the bond grips instantly and reaches full strength after three days.
Before you order: It does not bond polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), soft PVC (e.g. faux leather), PTFE (Teflon) or Styrofoam (EPS). Check the material of the parts first.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Pattex Kraftkleber Gel Compact, 50 g tube
What It Means in Practice
- Apply thinly to both surfaces, wait about 15 minutes (at 18–25 °C) until it is touch-dry, then press firmly — positioning after contact is not possible.
- Open time is up to 60 minutes, so you can prepare several parts before joining them.
- Final strength is reached after about 3 days; avoid heavy loads before then.
- Cured bonds withstand -40 °C to +70 °C.
- Coverage is 250–350 g/m² across both sides — a 50 g tube suits small repairs, not large surfaces.
What Will Not Work
- No bond on PE, PP, soft PVC, PTFE or Styrofoam (EPS).
- Not a quick-reposition glue — parts grab on contact and cannot be slid into place.
- Not suitable for large areas; for big laminates choose a larger pack size.
- Not a paper glue stick for everyday office paperwork.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I glue plastic with it?
Rigid PVC, ABS and acrylic, yes. Polyethylene, polypropylene, soft PVC, PTFE and Styrofoam, no.
Why do I have to wait before joining?
Contact adhesives must flash off for about 15 minutes; joining wet gives a weak bond.
How long until full strength?
The bond grips immediately but reaches final strength after about three days.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A contact gel is the right choice when two parts must hold the moment you press them together — laminate edges, shoe soles, rubber seals, cork boards. Read the "does not bond" list first; most failed repairs are on PE or PP. More supplies are in our
office stationery range.
✓ Buy it if you need a strong, permanent, non-drip bond on wood, laminates, leather, rubber or metal.
✕ Skip it if you are gluing PE, PP, soft PVC, Styrofoam or everyday paper.
