Pelikan Textmarker 490 eco — 6 Pastel Highlighters from Recycled Material
6 pastel colours1 / 2 / 5 mm80% recycledMade in Germany
The Pelikan Textmarker 490 eco (823432) is a set of six highlighters in pastel colours in a case, with one tip that marks in three line widths — 1, 2 and 5 mm — and a barrel made from 80% post-consumer recycled material. It is made for studying, office reading and colour-coding notes without the glare of neon highlighters.
Pelikan specifies a water-based universal ink with even brightness on almost all papers, up to 8 hours of dry-out protection if the cap is left off, a grip recess and a cap you can open and close with one hand.
Before you order: These are pastel colours, softer than classic neon highlighters — ideal for reading comfort and colour coding, less striking on photocopies.
What's in the Box
- 6 × Pelikan Textmarker 490 eco, assorted pastel colours
- Case
What It Means in Practice
- Turn the tip to switch between 1 mm underlining, 2 mm and 5 mm full-line highlighting.
- Pastel tones are easy on the eyes over long reading sessions.
- Leaving the cap off for a while does not ruin the marker (up to 8 hours).
What Will Not Work
- Not neon — pastel shades are deliberately softer.
- Not for glossy photo paper or film.
- Not refillable (Pelikan does not list a refill).

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Pastel highlighters are the better choice for heavy readers: they mark clearly without tiring the eyes or bleeding attention from the text. One set of six covers a full colour-coding system. Browse our stationery range for notebooks and pens.
✓ Buy it if you highlight a lot and prefer soft colours for colour coding.
✕ Skip it if you want maximum contrast — choose neon highlighters.
→ Also consider STAEDTLER Lumocolor pens for writing on film and plastic.
