The PLANET IPOE-173S is an industrial PoE splitter: it takes power and data from an IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ switch or injector over one network cable and splits them into a Gigabit RJ45 data port and a DC power output of 12, 19 or 24 V, selected with a DIP switch. PLANET rates the output at up to 70 W. In practice it lets you power a device that has no PoE of its own — a camera, a small PC, a display or a controller — from the network cable, without a mains socket next to it. The IP30 metal housing mounts on a DIN rail or a wall and works from −40 to 75 °C, so it suits cabinets outdoors and on the factory floor. Tell us the device’s voltage and power and we check that the splitter and your PoE source match.

Compatibility — check before buying:
It needs an IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ source for its full output; on an 802.3at (PoE+) switch it only receives PoE+ power, far below 70 W. Set the DIP switch to your device’s input voltage (12, 19 or 24 V) before connecting — the wrong setting can damage it. The DC output is a removable 4-pin terminal block, not a barrel jack, so the device lead is wired into the terminals. For 60 W and more, PLANET specifies 4-pair Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 100 m. The PoE switch or injector is not included. Send us the device model and your switch and we confirm the setup.

Will it work with my PoE+ switch?
It will start, but an 802.3at (PoE+) switch delivers PoE+ power, well below the 70 W the splitter can pass on. For the full output use an IEEE 802.3bt PoE++ switch or injector.
Which voltage should I choose?
The one printed on your device’s power input: 12, 19 or 24 V. Set the DIP switch before you connect the device, and check that its power draw stays within the current PLANET lists for that voltage.
How do I connect my device’s power?
Through the removable 4-pin terminal block. If your device has a barrel plug, cut or adapt a DC lead with the right polarity — tell us the plug size and we suggest a cable.
Can it go outdoors?
It is an IP30 industrial unit for −40 to 75 °C, so it belongs inside an outdoor cabinet or enclosure, not directly in rain.
