PLANET POE-E201 Gigabit PoE+ Extender IEEE 802.3at, +100 m per Unit, Up to 500 m Cascaded, Metal Housing
PLANET POE-E201 — another 100 m of Gigabit PoE+
The PLANET POE-E201 is a Gigabit PoE+ extender that sits in the middle of a long Ethernet run and adds another 100 m. It is powered by the PoE switch or injector upstream and passes both data and PoE to the device downstream, so a camera or access point can be placed up to 200 m from the switch — or up to 500 m with four units in a chain.
The LAN IN port is an 802.3at PD (Class 4) and the LAN OUT port is a PoE source delivering up to 26 W at 44–52 V DC. Data passes at 10/100/1000 Mbps with store-and-forward and 9K jumbo frames. The metal case mounts on a wall, or on a DIN rail with PLANET’s optional RKE-DIN kit.
What's in the Box
- POE-E201 PoE+ extender
- Further package contents are not published by PLANET
What It Means in Practice
- Solves the 100 m Ethernet limit for parking-lot cameras, warehouse access points and remote gates without running mains power to the mid-point.
- Place it in a junction box at the 100 m mark; nothing else is needed there.
- For a 25 W device at 200 m, feed the extender from a full 802.3at switch or injector.
- Gigabit needs Cat5e or better on both segments.
What Will Not Work
- It does not deliver 802.3bt (60/90 W) power.
- It cannot be powered from a local adapter — it relies on PoE from upstream.
- It is not weatherproof; outdoor installs need an enclosure.
- It is not a switch: one input, one output.
