PNY Attaché 4 3.1 64 GB — 80 / 20 MB/s, Capless Sliding Collar
64 GBUSB 3.1, Type-A80 MB/s read / 20 MB/s write53.8 x 19.5 x 9.5 mm
The PNY Attaché 4 3.1 is a 64 GB USB 3.1 flash drive with a sliding collar instead of a cap — push the collar forward to expose the connector, pull it back to protect it. PNY publishes read speeds of up to 80 MB/s and write speeds of up to 20 MB/s. The body measures 53.8 x 19.5 x 9.5 mm.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack, so it will not enter a phone, a tablet or a USB-C-only laptop. ???? Four characters separate this drive from a far slower one with the same name.
FD64GATT431KK-EF, this drive, is USB 3.1 at 80 / 20 MB/s. FD64GATT4-EF without the “31KK” is the plain Attaché 4 on USB 2.0, for which PNY publishes no read speed at all and only a 3 MB/s write baseline. Same name, same black plastic, same sliding collar — you cannot tell them apart in a photograph. If you are re-ordering to match sticks you already have, send us the code printed on one. On the speeds: PNY publishes 80 / 20 as one figure for the whole Attaché 4 3.1 range, from 32 GB up, rather than measuring each capacity. We publish it as PNY does, but treat it as a family claim rather than a figure for this 64 GB specifically. PNY publishes no weight, no material, no colour and no operating-system version list for this model, so none appear here.Best For
✓ Carrying documents, photographs and installers between computers
✓ Anyone who keeps losing caps — the collar slides and nothing detaches
✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports
✓ Buying several at once for an office or a classroom
✓ Replacing a USB 2.0 stick where the difference will be felt
✓ Buyers who want a stated read and write pair rather than a bare bus rate
Key Features
80 MB/s read, 20 MB/s write
Both published, which is more than PNY does for its own USB 2.0 Attaché 4. Comfortable for documents and photographs; a large video will take its time on the write.
Capless sliding collar
The connector slides out of the body rather than sitting under a removable cap. Nothing to lose, and nothing rattling loose in a bag.
53.8 mm, and a real specification
PNY publishes the dimensions for this line, which it does not do for the USB 2.0 Attaché 4. Long enough to grip and pull out of a tight port, short enough not to foul a neighbouring cable on most machines.
USB 3.1, backwards compatible
It will run in a USB 2.0 port at USB 2.0 speeds, so an older machine is not a reason to avoid it. Note that PNY publishes the interface simply as USB 3.1 without stating a generation.

Singular Expert Insight
The Attaché 4 3.1 is the plain end of the USB stick market done properly: a sliding collar so you cannot lose a cap, USB 3.1, and a published 80 / 20 that PNY quotes for the whole family rather than for this capacity. That last point is the one to hold on to — if you need a number you can rely on for this specific 64 GB drive, a manufacturer that publishes per capacity gives you firmer ground, and several in our USB flash drives range do. What this drive is genuinely good at is being bought in quantity and handed out without anyone worrying about it — and unlike its USB 2.0 namesake, it is quick enough that nobody complains. For editing large files directly off the drive, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a straightforward 64 GB USB-A stick with no cap to lose, at a price that makes buying several sensible, and 80 MB/s read is enough.
Skip it if
You write large files often — 20 MB/s write is slow. Or you need a USB-C connector, or a speed figure measured at this exact capacity.
