PNY Elite-X Fit Type-C 64 GB — A USB-C Stub That Stays In the Port
64 GBUSB Type-C onlyUp to 200 MB/s read, 100 MB/s writeSliding collar, no cap
The PNY Elite-X Fit Type-C is a 64 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a USB-C connector in PNY’s short Fit body, designed to sit in a port rather than hang out of one. PNY publishes read speeds of up to 200 MB/s and write speeds of up to 100 MB/s for the series, and protects the connector with a sliding collar instead of a removable cap.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This drive has a USB-C connector and nothing else. It will not enter a standard rectangular USB-A port on a desktop or an older laptop, and no adapter is included. That is the whole point of the model — it is built for phones, tablets and USB-C laptops — but it is also the mistake to avoid. PNY sells an almost identically named Elite-X Fit USB 3.1 under part number P-FDI64GEXFIT-GE, one letter shorter, and that one is USB Type-A. A single missing C changes the connector completely. Be careful too with pack sizes: P-FDI64GX3EXFITC-GE is a three-pack of the same drive, and P-FDI128X2EXFITC-GE is a two-pack of the 128 GB version. On a phone, the device has to support USB storage, which virtually all recent Android models and USB-C iPhones do; an iPhone with a Lightning port does not.
Best For
✓ Adding storage to a USB-C phone or tablet without paying for cloud space
✓ Modern laptops that have dropped USB-A entirely
✓ Leaving permanently in a port — the Fit body barely protrudes
✓ Moving recordings or photos straight off a phone
✓ Anyone who prefers a sliding collar to a cap that gets lost
✓ Carrying files between USB-C devices at work and at home
Key Features
USB-C, no adapter needed
A native Type-C plug goes straight into a phone, a tablet or a modern laptop. No dongle, no adapter hunting, nothing extra to carry.
Up to 200 MB/s read, 100 MB/s write
PNY publishes both halves, which is more than many brands do. The write figure is the one that matters when you are pulling a large video off a phone.
The Fit form factor
A stub body rather than a full-length stick, so it sits nearly flush in the port and can stay there. Nothing sticks out to catch, bend or snap.
Sliding collar instead of a cap
The collar slides over the connector when the drive is not in use. It stays attached to the body, so there is no small plastic part to lose.

Singular Expert Insight
The Fit format is the reason to choose this over a normal stick: it is short enough to stay in a laptop or tablet permanently, which turns a flash drive into quiet extra storage rather than something you plug in and pull out. PNY also does the decent thing and publishes a write speed, at up to 100 MB/s, where several competitors publish read only. Two cautions. The first is the connector — USB-C only, and PNY’s own near-identical part number without the trailing C is the USB-A drive, which is exactly the kind of one-character difference that generates returns. The second is the warranty: PNY publishes one year for this series, shorter than the five years that Kingston, SanDisk, Transcend and Silicon Power publish across our USB flash drives range. If you want a longer manufacturer term, say so and we will point you at one.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Everything you own is USB-C, you want storage that stays in the port, and a published 200 MB/s read with 100 MB/s write covers what you move.
Skip it if
You still use USB-A ports, you need a drive that works on both older and newer machines, or a one-year manufacturer term is shorter than you are comfortable with.
Also consider
The USB-A Elite-X Fit if your machines have rectangular ports. A dual USB-A and USB-C drive such as the Kingston microDuo 3C or MediaRange MR938 if you need both. Larger PNY capacities if 64 GB is tight.
