QNAP QuCPE-7012 — uCPE Network Virtualization Appliance
Xeon D-2146NT 8C/16T32GB DDR4 ECC4× 10GbE + 8× 2.5GbE1U · Cloud-Managed
The QNAP QuCPE-7012-D2146NT-32G is a 1U rackmount uCPE (universal customer premises equipment) network virtualization appliance powered by an 8-core Intel Xeon D-2146NT with 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory. It runs QNAP's QNE Network operating system to host multiple virtual network functions (VNFs) — such as firewalls, routers, and SD-WAN — on a single cloud-managed platform, with four 10GbE SFP+ and eight 2.5GbE ports for high-throughput connectivity. Identified by part number QuCPE-7012-D2146NT-32G, it is typically available with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Deployment — important: This is a bare-metal virtualization platform running QNAP QNE Network — you deploy virtual network functions (firewall, router, SD-WAN, IDS/IPS, and more) as VMs or containers on it, and any third-party VNF licences are provided by their respective vendors. It is a 1U rackmount unit, and the 10GbE SFP+ ports require compatible SFP+ modules (sold separately). It is cloud-managed for centralised deployment.
Key Features
8-Core Xeon D + 32GB ECC
An Intel Xeon D-2146NT (8 cores / 16 threads, up to 3.0GHz) with 32GB of DDR4 ECC memory delivers reliable performance for running multiple network functions at once.
High-Density Networking
Four 10GbE SFP+ ports and eight 2.5GbE ports provide high-throughput, multi-segment connectivity for demanding edge and branch deployments.
QNE Network Platform
Host multiple VNFs — firewall, router, SD-WAN, IDS/IPS — on a single appliance instead of stacking separate hardware boxes, simplifying the network edge.
Cloud-Managed & Compact
Deploy and manage functions centrally from the cloud, all in a space-efficient 1U rackmount chassis.

Singular Expert Insight
The QuCPE-7012 is aimed at organisations that want to consolidate the network edge: instead of separate firewall, router, and SD-WAN boxes, you run them as virtual functions on one cloud-managed appliance with plenty of 10GbE and 2.5GbE connectivity. The 8-core Xeon D and 32GB ECC give it the headroom to run several VNFs at once, and central cloud management simplifies multi-site rollouts. If you only need a single fixed-function device, a dedicated firewall or router is simpler and more cost-effective; the QuCPE shines when you want flexibility and consolidation.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want to consolidate multiple network functions (firewall, router, SD-WAN) onto one cloud-managed, high-throughput uCPE appliance with 10GbE.
Skip it if
You only need a single fixed-function device, or you do not plan to run virtualized network functions.
Also consider
A dedicated hardware firewall or router for single-function needs, or a higher-spec QuCPE model for running more VNFs.
