QNAP QXG-10G2SF-X710 — Dual-Port 10GbE SFP+ Card for NAS and Servers
2× SFP+ 10GbEIntel X710PCIe 3.0 x8Fanless heatsink
The QNAP QXG-10G2SF-X710 is a dual-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet expansion card with two SFP+ cages, built on the Intel X710 platform for QNAP NAS units, Windows and Linux servers and workstations that connect to a 10GbE SFP+ switch.
Each port runs at 10G or 1G, uses a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface (it also fits PCIe 4.0 slots), and the card is cooled by a passive heatsink, so it adds no fan noise to a NAS or workstation.
Before you order: SFP+ cages only — no transceivers or DAC cables are included and there is no RJ45 port. On QNAP NAS the card needs QTS 5.1.0 or QuTS hero h5.1.0 (build 20230725) or later.
What's in the Box
- 1× QNAP QXG-10G2SF-X710 network card (low-profile bracket fitted)
- Full-height bracket and a special bracket for selected QNAP NAS models
- Quick Installation Guide
- No SFP+ modules or DAC cables — sold separately
What It Means in Practice
- Two 10GbE ports: one link to the switch and one to a backup NAS or server, or both to the switch for failover and trunking.
- SMB 3.0 Multichannel on QTS/QuTS hero 5.1 lets a Windows client use both ports together, up to 20 Gbps combined.
- SR-IOV is available on selected QNAP NAS models, so virtual machines can get their own slice of the card with less overhead.
- The 1G mode helps when part of the network still runs 1GbE SFP optics.
What Will Not Work
- RJ45 copper cabling — for RJ45 choose a 10GBASE-T card.
- 25GbE — this is a 10G card; for 25G look at the QXG-25G2SF-E810.
- A QNAP NAS without a PCIe slot, or one running firmware older than QTS/QuTS hero 5.1.
- Running without modules — SFP+ transceivers or DAC cables are not included.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The QXG-10G2SF-X710 is the dependable choice for an SFP+ 10GbE network: proven Intel X710 silicon, two ports, no fan. Most buyers connect it with two short DAC cables to a 10GbE switch and enable SMB Multichannel for faster Windows backups. If your cabling is copper, see our other network cards with RJ45 ports.
✓ Buy it if your switch has SFP+ ports and your NAS or server has a free PCIe x8 slot.
✕ Skip it if you only have RJ45 copper cabling, or you need 25GbE.
→ Also consider QNAP QXG-25G2SF-E810 for 25GbE SFP28.
Not sure it fits? Send us your NAS or server model and your switch, and we will check compatibility and the right DAC or optic before you order.
