QNAP RAIL-A03-57 — Rail Kit for QNAP A03 Series Enterprise Chassis
57 kg maximum loadSquare-hole racks only579.1–873.5 mm depthWidest model list
The QNAP RAIL-A03-57 is the rail kit for QNAP’s A03 series enterprise chassis — the 8-bay to 16-bay rackmount enclosures, including the TS-EC and TVS-EC families, the TES and TDS lines and the REXP expansion units. It carries the heaviest load of QNAP’s three current kits at 57 kg, and covers a mounting depth of 579.1 mm to 873.5 mm. Rails are never supplied with the NAS, so for any of the models listed below this is the part that puts the unit safely in the rack and lets it be serviced there.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The NAS model decides the kit, and this one has the longest list. QNAP’s three rail kits have mutually exclusive model lists — a chassis that takes RAIL-A03-57 does not take RAIL-A02-90 or RAIL-B02. Check your exact model in the list below before ordering. Square-hole racks only: QNAP states its chassis rail kits work only with 9.5 × 9.5 mm square-hole server racks, so round-hole and threaded posts are out — only RAIL-B02 handles round holes, and it serves different NAS models. Rack depth must be at least 579.1 mm, which rules out shallow comms cabinets. Unlike its sibling, the -57 here does match the published load rating of 57 kg; the RAIL-A02-90 is rated 35 kg despite its suffix. QNAP does not publish package contents, dimensions or weight for this kit, so we state none — ask us and we will confirm whether screws and cage nuts are included.
Best For
✓ Racking QNAP TS-EC, TVS-EC, TES, TDS and REXP enterprise chassis
✓ Fully populated 16-bay enclosures approaching 57 kg
✓ Deep server racks from 579.1 mm mounting depth
✓ Replacing rails lost during a data-centre move
✓ Expansion units racked alongside the head unit
✓ Standard 9.5 mm square-hole server racks
Key Features
Fifty-seven kilograms, and the suffix means it
This is the highest-rated of QNAP’s current rail kits, and the 57 in the part number matches the published figure. A 16-bay chassis filled with high-capacity 3.5-inch drives is heavy enough that the rating is a real constraint rather than a formality, and QNAP scoped this kit to the chassis families that reach it.
The broadest model list QNAP publishes
More than thirty chassis are named for this kit, spanning the TS-EC and TVS-EC enterprise lines, the TES and TDS families, the WB and REXP expansion units and the newer TS-1673U, TS-1677XU-RP, TVS-1672XU-RP and TS-1683XU-RP. If you run QNAP enterprise storage, this is the kit most of it uses.
Deep racks, square posts
The mounting depth range runs from 579.1 mm to 873.5 mm, sized for full-depth server racks. Mounting is to 9.5 × 9.5 mm square-hole posts, the data-centre standard — which does mean an older round-hole rack needs a different approach entirely.

Singular Expert Insight
Buy QNAP rails by NAS model, never by rack — the three kits map to three chassis families with no overlap, so the model number answers the question outright. Where this kit differs from its siblings in practice is weight: 57 kg is what a sixteen-bay enclosure full of large drives actually reaches, and rails are the one component in a rack where under-specifying has physical consequences. Check the depth too, because 579.1 mm is a genuine minimum and shallow cabinets will not take it. For the chassis, our NAS and RAID appliances range covers QNAP’s rackmount enterprise models, and enterprise hard drives covers the disks that make them heavy.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your NAS is one of the listed TS-EC, TVS-EC, TES, TDS, WB, REXP or newer XU models, and your rack has square-hole posts between 579.1 mm and 873.5 mm deep.
Skip it if
Your NAS is a 24-bay A02 chassis — that is RAIL-A02-90 — or a 1U or 2U model, which is RAIL-B02. Your rack has round or threaded posts, or is shallower than 579.1 mm.
Also consider
QNAP RAIL-A02-90 for the 24-bay A02 chassis, or RAIL-B02 for 1U and 2U models and for round-hole racks.
