The Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T15 is a 19-inch rack mount kit that lets you install a desktop Fortinet FortiGate 80F or 81F in a standard rack, with its RJ45, SFP and USB ports brought to couplers on the front panel and the power supply fixed to the tray. It is built for IT teams and MSPs who want the firewall to sit neatly in the comms cabinet instead of on a shelf or on top of other equipment.
Rackmount.IT designs each kit around one specific appliance family, so the tray, cut-outs and cable routing match the exact chassis. The kit is 1U high, 44 x 482 x 217 mm, finished in Signal White (RAL 9003), and Rackmount.IT quotes an assembly time of under three minutes. The Fortinet appliance itself is not included.
Before you order: This kit fits the standard FortiGate 80F and 81F only. The FortiGate 80F-PoE, 80F-DSL and FortiWiFi 80F use a different Rackmount.IT kit, and the RM-FR-T15i is the industrial version with shielded couplers - check which one you need before ordering.
What's in the Box

- 12 x network cables, 0.5 m
- 2 x M3 x 6 mm bolts to fix the FortiGate to the tray
- 8 x zip ties for power cables and cable bundles
- Not included: the Fortinet appliance, its power supply, and rack screws or cage nuts for fixing the kit to your rack (use the ones supplied with your cabinet)
What It Means in Practice
- The FortiGate RJ45 and USB ports appear on the front of the rack, so day-to-day patching happens from the front.
- The SFP ports can also be brought to the front through fibre keystones - you only add your own short fibre patch cables.
- The power supply is tied down on the tray, so the firewall and its brick move as one unit.
- The firewall takes exactly 1U beside your switch and patch panel.
What Will Not Work
- FortiGate 80F-PoE, 80F-DSL or FortiWiFi 80F - these have a different chassis and need a different Rackmount.IT kit.
- Fibre patch cables for the SFP ports are not supplied, because lengths and connector types vary per installation.
- The standard kit does not use shielded couplers - for industrial environments choose the RM-FR-T15i.
- It does not fit FortiGate 60F/70F, 40F/50G or 90G appliances.

For a FortiGate 80F in a rack, the RM-FR-T15 is the tidy option because it also handles the SFP and USB ports, not just the copper ones. Plan the short fibre patch leads in advance, since they are the one item you need to add. See our firewalls range if you are still selecting the appliance.
