The REINER SCT timeCard Premium Transponder (part number 2749600-514) is a pack of 50 secure RFID key fobs for the REINER SCT timeCard time-recording and access-control system. Each fob carries a MIFARE DESFire EV3 chip at 13.56 MHz, the current generation of NXP’s encrypted contactless chips, certified to Common Criteria EAL5+ — so the ID cannot simply be copied with a cheap reader, which is the weak point of older proximity tags. Employees hold the fob to a timeCard Terminal 3, Terminal 3 mini, Multiterminal RFID (DES) or Web-Terminal comfort to clock in and out, and the same fob can open doors fitted with a timeCard external RFID reader (DES) or Assa Abloy Aperio version 3 locks. The housing is hard-wearing matte polycarbonate, ultrasonically welded and water resistant, with a metal frame so a dropped fob is easy to find. In practice, a 50-pack is the rollout size for a whole company or several branches at once.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The fob needs a DESFire-capable REINER SCT reader: timeCard Terminal 3, Terminal 3 mini, Multiterminal RFID (DES), Web-Terminal comfort or the timeCard external RFID reader (DES). On a Multiterminal or external reader, it must be the DES variant. REINER SCT states it is not compatible with Assa Abloy Aperio version 2 cylinders and fittings — only version 3. It will not work with 125 kHz clocks such as TimeMoto. REINER SCT also makes a card version; this pack is key fobs. Not sure it fits? Which terminals read it?
REINER SCT lists the timeCard Terminal 3, Terminal 3 mini, Multiterminal RFID (DES) and Web-Terminal comfort, plus the external RFID reader (DES) for doors. Older terminals are not listed — send us the model and we check.
Does it work with Aperio door locks?
With Assa Abloy Aperio version 3, yes. REINER SCT states it is not compatible with Aperio version 2 cylinders and fittings.
How many do I need?
One per employee plus spares. This pack holds 50; REINER SCT also sells 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 packs.
Can I use it with a TimeMoto clock?
No. TimeMoto uses 125 kHz tags. This fob runs at 13.56 MHz with DESFire EV3.
