Rittal VX IT Air Baffle Plate for 800 mm Wide, 2000 mm High Racks, 19-inch Mounting Angles, Black RAL 9005

The Rittal 5302014 is an air baffle plate for Rittal VX IT enclosures 800 mm wide and 2000 mm high: it closes the gaps around the 19-inch mounting angles so that cold supply air and hot exhaust air stay on their own side of the equipment. It is meant for IT racks that run with aisle containment or with a Rittal LCP (Liquid Cooling Package), where every bypass path costs cooling capacity.

In an 800 mm wide rack the 19-inch mounting plane leaves open strips at the sides and top. Without a baffle, cold air takes the short route around the servers instead of through them, and hot exhaust can creep back to the front. This kit seals those strips with sheet-steel trim panels, brush strips for cable pass-through and foam pieces, and the six 1U blanking panels in the box close empty rack units in the 19-inch plane itself.

• Cold air from the containment or LCP is forced through the equipment instead of around it, so the same cooling unit can carry more load or run at a lower fan speed.
• The brush strips let you pass cables from front to rear without leaving an open hole in the air barrier.
• Empty rack units are closed with the supplied 1U blanking panels; if you have more than six empty units, order extra blanking panels.
• Rittal notes that cut-outs in the trim panels can either be sealed with blanking panels or used for mounting components and routing cables.

• Rittal TS IT enclosures — they use a different frame; Rittal offers separate TS IT air baffle plates.
• VX IT enclosures of other widths or heights, e.g. 600 mm wide or 2200 mm high — each size has its own baffle plate.
• Racks from other manufacturers — the trim panels are dimensioned for the VX IT frame and mounting angles.
• It does not cool anything by itself: it only works together with a cooling system (aisle containment, LCP or room cooling) that supplies cold air to the front.
