Rittal SK 3110.000 — Enclosure Internal Thermostat, 5–60 °C
5–60 °CSPDT contact24–230 V ACDIN rail
The Rittal SK 3110.000 is a compact bi-metal enclosure thermostat with a 5–60 °C setting range and a single-pole change-over contact that switches fans, heaters or heat exchangers inside a network, server or control cabinet. It can also be used as a signal generator to report the internal temperature to a monitoring system.
Mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail, or with the supplied adaptor in the enclosure frame or on the mounting plate, it keeps the cabinet climate in range without any software: when the set temperature is crossed, the contact switches the connected fan or heater.
Before you order: Load limits are AC 10 (4) A for heating and AC 5 (4) A for cooling (inductive, cos φ 0.6), max. 30 W DC. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Rittal SK 3110.000 thermostat
- Mounting adaptor for enclosure section or mounting plate (per Rittal "supplied adaptor")
What It Means in Practice
- Switches a cabinet fan on when the temperature rises above the set point.
- Or switches a heater on in cold or humid locations to prevent condensation.
- Change-over contact works for either heating or cooling duty.
- Can feed a temperature alarm input on a UPS, PLC or monitoring unit.
What Will Not Work
- No display, network interface or remote monitoring — it is a mechanical thermostat.
- Not for loads above the rated contact current; use a relay or contactor for larger fans or heaters.
- Does not include the fan or heater it controls.
- Not a humidity controller (hygrostat).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can one thermostat control both a fan and a heater?
The change-over contact switches one circuit on rising and another on falling temperature, but most installations use one thermostat per function for independent set points.
What temperature should I set for a network cabinet?
Many IT cabinets use a fan set point around 30–35 °C; follow your equipment makers' limits.
Does it need a separate power supply?
No. It is a passive switching contact wired in series with the fan or heater circuit.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A simple thermostat is the most reliable way to make a cabinet fan run only when needed, saving noise and wear. The SK 3110.000 is a proven Rittal part with a wide voltage range and UL/VDE approvals. Pair it with a roof fan unit and have it wired by an electrician. More cabinet accessories are in our
