RIVACASE 7761 Galapagos — Urban Laptop Backpack for 15.6″ Notebooks, in Khaki
Fits 15.6″ laptopsTablet up to 10.5″Water-repellent fabric0.767 kg
The RIVACASE 7761 is an active-style urban backpack from the Galapagos collection, with a padded compartment for laptops up to 15.6 inches and a tablet pocket inside it for devices up to 10.5 inches. The shell is high-quality water-repellent polyester and the base of the laptop compartment carries a padded insert, so the machine does not rest directly on the ground when the bag is set down. Two spacious zipped compartments, an inner mesh pocket, a hidden pocket on the back panel and two side pockets handle the rest, and there is a detachable key strap in the front pocket. It weighs 0.767 kg empty. Our product code for this item is 7761 KHAKI. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The Galapagos collection is not an ECO line. Unlike RIVACASE’s Tegel, Suzuka and Sherwood collections, the 7761 carries no rPET or recycled-material claim from RIVACASE. The fabric is polyester. Do not assume recycled content from the brand’s other ranges. Weight correction: RIVACASE states 0.767 kg. Some listings, including older data for this product, quote 790 g — that figure is not RIVACASE’s. Volume: RIVACASE publishes no litre figure for the 7761 and neither do we; use the external dimensions of 310 x 460 x 150 mm. Not published: RIVACASE claims no chest strap, no compression straps, no RFID pocket, no rain cover, no lockable zips, no reflective elements and no ventilated or padded back panel for this model — the published padding is around the laptop compartment only. Tablet: up to 10.5 inches, inside the laptop compartment.
Best For
✓ Daily commuting or study with a 15.6″ laptop and a tablet
✓ Users who want a khaki finish rather than another black backpack
✓ Anyone who repeatedly sets a bag down on wet or rough ground
✓ Travel where the backpack slides over a trolley handle
Key Features
Padded insert in the base
The laptop compartment has padded sides and a padded insert on the bottom, so setting the bag down does not put the base of the laptop in direct contact with the floor. It is a small design decision that prevents a common source of damage.
Laptop and tablet together
The compartment holds notebooks up to 15.6 inches in a pocket measuring 280 x 395 x 40 mm, with a separate section inside it for tablets up to 10.5 inches — large enough for a full-size iPad rather than only a compact one.
Water-repellent polyester with a contrasting lining
The outer fabric is high-quality water-repellent polyester that sheds a shower, and the interior is finished in a contrasting lining so items are easier to spot inside the bag.
Hidden pocket and detachable key strap
A zipped pocket on the back panel sits against your body when the bag is worn, keeping a passport or wallet out of reach. The front zipped pocket carries a detachable key strap alongside space for a phone and business cards, and there is an inner mesh zipped pocket in the main compartment.

Singular Expert Insight
Galapagos is RIVACASE’s more casual, outdoor-leaning urban line, and the 7761 is its 15.6-inch workhorse. The detail that separates it from similar bags is the padded insert in the base of the laptop compartment — setting a backpack down on a hard floor is how a lot of laptops pick up damage, and a padded base is a cheap fix that many manufacturers skip. The khaki finish is genuinely useful if you are tired of black nylon, and the contrasting interior lining is the kind of small thing you appreciate every day. Two things to be clear about. This is not one of RIVACASE’s ECO collections: there is no recycled-material claim and none should be inferred from the brand’s other ranges. And RIVACASE publishes no volume figure and no padded or ventilated back panel for the 7761, so if you are comparing on litres or on back-system comfort, this model gives you less to work with than some rivals. Browse the rest of our laptop backpacks and cases, and a spare charger keeps the bag lighter day to day.
Buyer’s Guide
