Rackmount.IT FortiRack RM-FR-T16 - 1U Rack Kit for FortiGate Rugged 60F
FortiGate Rugged 60F1U 19-inchTray mountSignal White
The Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T16 is a 19-inch rack mount kit that lets you install a desktop Fortinet FortiGate Rugged 60F (FGR-60F or FGR-60F-3G4G) in a standard rack, using a 1U tray on which the appliance is bolted from below. It is built for IT teams and MSPs who want the firewall to sit neatly in the comms cabinet instead of on a shelf or on top of other equipment.
Rackmount.IT designs each kit around one specific appliance family, so the tray, cut-outs and cable routing match the exact chassis. The kit is 1U high, 44 x 482 x 217 mm, finished in Signal White (RAL 9003), and Rackmount.IT quotes an assembly time of under three minutes. The Fortinet appliance itself is not included.
Before you order: This kit is for the FortiGate RUGGED 60F (FGR-60F / FGR-60F-3G4G) only - not for the standard desktop FortiGate 60F or 61F. For a standard 60F, order the Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T10.
What's in the Box
- 1 x FortiRack 1U tray
- 3 x zip ties
- Not included: the Fortinet appliance, its power supply, and rack screws or cage nuts for fixing the kit to your rack (use the ones supplied with your cabinet)
What It Means in Practice
- The Rugged 60F is bolted to the tray from below with the 4 x 6 Phillips bolt that Fortinet ships with the appliance.
- If you use a third-party power supply, it can be tied down next to the appliance with the supplied zip ties.
- The appliance keeps its own ports and terminal block; there are no front couplers or extension cables, so you cable directly to the unit.
- The tray gives the rugged appliance a fixed 1U position in a 19-inch rack instead of a DIN rail.
What Will Not Work
- The standard FortiGate 60F / 61F - it needs the RM-FR-T10 instead.
- No front-panel port couplers or network cables are included - cables go straight to the appliance.
- The Fortinet fixing bolt is not in this box; it comes with the Rugged 60F.
- No power supply is included - Fortinet supplies power for the rugged unit separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
My FortiGate is a 60F, not a Rugged 60F - does this fit?
No. The standard desktop 60F has a different chassis and uses the Rackmount.IT RM-FR-T10, which also brings the ports to the front.
Why are there no network cables in the box?
On this kit the rugged appliance is mounted as it is and you connect directly to its own ports, so no couplers or extension cables are needed.
Do I need extra screws to fix the appliance?
No extra bolt is supplied, because the kit uses the 4 x 6 Phillips bolt that comes with the Rugged 60F. Rack screws for the cabinet are also not included.
How deep does my rack or wall cabinet need to be?
The kit itself is 217 mm deep, so it also fits shallow wall-mount cabinets. Leave a little extra room behind it for the mains cable of the power supply.
