rOtring 300 Clutch Pencil 2.0 mm — Black
2.0 mm leadBrass mechanismBuilt-in sharpenerRefillable
The rOtring 300 2.0 mm (1904729) is a refillable clutch pencil — a leadholder for thick 2.0 mm leads — with a brass mechanism, a lead sharpener under the push-button cap and a black hexagonal barrel. It suits sketching, technical drawing, woodworking and marking-out, where a thick, strong lead that can be sharpened to a point is more practical than a fine 0.5 mm lead.
The hexagonal plastic barrel does not roll off the drawing board, and the grip zone is metal for a secure hold. A lead hardness indicator lets you show which grade is loaded, so you can keep several 300 pencils with different leads and tell them apart at a glance.
Before you order: This is the 2.0 mm clutch-pencil version of the rOtring 300 (EAN 4006856501902). It takes 2.0 mm leads only — not 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm fine leads. If you are looking for the 0.5 mm rOtring 300 mechanical pencil, ask us for that model before ordering.
What's in the Box
- 1 rOtring 300 clutch pencil 2.0 mm, black
What It Means in Practice
- Thick 2.0 mm lead resists breaking — good for sketching with pressure and marking on wood or card.
- Sharpen the lead with the built-in sharpener under the cap — no separate lead pointer needed on the go.
- Set the hardness indicator to the lead you loaded (e.g. HB, 2B) to keep track of multiple pencils.
- Hexagonal barrel stays put on a sloped drawing board.
- Refillable — buy 2.0 mm leads instead of a new pencil.
What Will Not Work
- 0.5 mm or 0.7 mm fine leads — this holder takes 2.0 mm leads only.
- Very fine technical line work at 0.3-0.5 mm without frequent sharpening — use a fine-lead mechanical pencil.
- Erasing — rOtring does not list an eraser for this model.
- Coloured or 3.15 mm leads — use 2.0 mm leads.
