Samsung Type-C Earphones EO-IC100 — two-way 11 mm and 8 mm drivers, tuned by AKG

Tuned by AKG2-way: 11 mm + 8 mm driversUSB Type-CFabric cable · 18.35 g

The Samsung EO-IC100 is Samsung’s wired USB Type-C earphone in white, with the sound tuned by AKG and a genuine two-way driver arrangement in each earpiece — an 11 mm woofer paired with an 8 mm tweeter. Samsung’s own name for it is simply “Samsung Type-C Earphones”; AKG is a tuning credit rather than part of the product name. The cable is fabric-wrapped to resist tangling, the whole set weighs 18.35 g, and three ear-tip sizes come in the box. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
These plug into a USB Type-C port — there is no 3.5 mm jack version of this part, and they will not work in a headphone socket. Because a USB-C port carries digital rather than analogue audio, the digital-to-analogue conversion happens inside the earphone itself; that is how USB-C earphones work, not a Samsung claim. Samsung publishes compatibility only for its own devices, in these words: compatible with the Galaxy Fold and all Samsung mobile devices that have no 3.5 mm jack, such as the Galaxy Note10 and Tab S6. It makes no statement about non-Samsung phones, and we will not promise one — behaviour on other brands, including USB-C iPhones, is inconsistent in practice. There is no active noise cancellation: Samsung lists ANC explicitly as “No”, and the only isolation is the ordinary passive seal of the ear tip.

Key Features

A real two-way driver, not marketing
Samsung publishes the configuration as “2Way (11mm/8mm)”: a larger 11 mm driver handling the low end and an 8 mm one handling the top, in each earpiece. Splitting the work between two drivers is what separates this from the single-driver earphone that used to come free in a phone box, and it is why AKG’s tuning has something to work with.

Tuned by AKG, in Samsung’s own words
Samsung credits AKG with the tuning across its European pages — “the technology is tuned by AKG”. Published figures are 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, 32 ohm impedance and 94.3 dB sensitivity, which is a straightforward, easy-to-drive specification for a phone rather than something needing an amplifier.

Fabric cable, three-button remote, three tip sizes
The cable is fabric-wrapped, which resists the tangling and the memory kinks that plain rubber leads develop in a pocket. The in-line remote has three buttons — volume up doubling as rewind, volume down as fast-forward, and a centre button for play, pause and answering calls — and small, medium and large ear tips are supplied.

Omitted Specifications Cable length, driver type, maximum SPL, total harmonic distortion, power handling, the DAC’s bit depth or sample rate, microphone type, any IP or water-resistance rating, and whether the volume buttons function on non-Samsung hosts are all unpublished. Figures for these that appear in reseller listings have no manufacturer source.
Availability Samsung’s UK, Greek, Danish and Swedish storefronts show the part out of stock while the Dutch and Belgian business catalogues still list it, and the support records remain live. There is no formal end-of-life notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these have noise cancelling?
No. Samsung’s specification sheet lists Active Noise Cancellation as “No”, in as many words. What you get is the ordinary passive isolation of an in-ear tip sealing the ear canal, which is why three tip sizes are supplied — a good seal is the only noise reduction on offer here. Any listing claiming noise cancellation for this part is wrong.
Will they work on a non-Samsung phone?
Samsung does not say, and we will not guess. Its only published compatibility statement covers Samsung devices without a 3.5 mm jack. USB-C earphones carry their own digital-to-analogue conversion, which in principle makes them portable between phones, but real-world behaviour on other brands is inconsistent enough that we would not want you to buy on that basis.
Is there a 3.5 mm version?
Not of this part. EO-IC100 is USB Type-C only. Samsung’s older AKG-tuned earphones with a 3.5 mm plug are different products with different part numbers, and they are frequently confused with this one in listings — check the connector in the photograph before ordering.
What is the difference between these and Galaxy Buds?
Everything except the brand. These are wired earphones that plug into the USB-C port, with no battery, no charging case, no Bluetooth, no app and no noise cancellation. Galaxy Buds are wireless. The advantage here is that there is nothing to charge and nothing to pair, and the sound does not depend on a codec.
Singular Expert Insight
The case for wired earphones in 2026 is a practical one: no battery to die, no pairing, no latency in a video call, and a two-way driver at a price no wireless set can match acoustically. The catch with USB-C is portability between phones — Samsung documents these only for its own devices, so treat them as a Galaxy accessory rather than a universal one. If you want the same thing without the cable, look at our earbuds and true wireless range and accept the charging that comes with it; and if you would rather keep a 3.5 mm headphone you already own, an adapter from our mobile phone accessories section is the cheaper route.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want good wired sound from a Galaxy phone with no jack — two-way drivers tuned by AKG, nothing to charge, nothing to pair, and a fabric cable that survives a pocket.

Skip it if

You need active noise cancellation, or you want earphones that will definitely work on a non-Samsung phone. Samsung publishes neither.

Also consider

EO-IC100BBEGEU for the same earphone in black, a pair of Galaxy Buds if you would rather go wireless, or a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter if you already own headphones you like.
